Should I stick to my Vectis or change to the Lanka

I absolutely adore the Vectis, its probably the stronger of the two sniper rifles. The Lanka is good, but just doesn't hold up to the vectis. Just my opinion though.

Vectis and here is why, put charged chamber mod as well as a reload mod and you are getting that first shot bonus every shot.

well, in theory, you could use vectis as a mid range assault rifle, and still get the *@##$es,

They're both good weapons and offer very high damage per shot.

 

Vectis is easier to use, easier to make, and shoots much faster.

Lanka is more easily modded to deal heavy elemental damage (since it's base damage is ALL electric), has has excellent punch-through and is silent.

Both weapons could be built for either status, crit or both. 

 

Personally I prefer the Lanka because I like my weapons more difficult to use.  If you choose to build the Lanka be aware that it's projectiles are not hitscan.  The projectile speed is very fast though.  This makes it a bit tricky to get used to.

 

If you like very accurate semi-automatic rifles, you could also take a look at the Latron Prime.

- Never worry about when to reload again

- It doesn't have a stupid charge mechanism

Well it is up to you, I like the Lanka because I find it more fun to use. I could barely stand to lvl my vectis to 30 before I sold it, the Lanka on the other hand have 6 forma. 

 

The lanka comes with 5m punch trough, electric base damage which makes it better for status procs, 10 round magazine with a fairly fast reload. Charge up time can be modded and projectile speed is quite fast. 

 

The only thing Vectis offers in my opinion is ease of use which is not something I value. As far as damage capabilities I believe they are fairly equal.

Because Hit Scan.
Don't need to charge up.
Charged Chamber/Primed Chamber ftw.
Higer dps if you manually reload every shot,which means you need to press R everytime you shoot.

There you go, you'll never know when you're going to like it or not until you tried it. Personally I've heard of the Lanka proc prowess, but to me ranking it up was too much pain, made it to 30 and sold it, can't bear formaing and putting potato on it.

I have much more fun with the Lanka. It feels like a futuristic sniper rifle, and with the recent tweaks to its stats it's starting to perform like one too. It is generally more of a challenge to use, though I'm with Xaelon and VikingoX in that I relish the challenge it presents, and I'm sure with practice you could get used to the projectile travel time. The massive punch-through is massive fun too.

Vectis.

 

-Hitscan, so no need to lead your targets.

- Tied with Lanka for highest crit chance (25%) and damage (200%).

- It deals physical damage and predominantly Slash, which is a good type.

- Low zoom, so it's far easier to use at close range.

- Higher status chance than Lanka, by 5%.

- Works perfectly with Charged Chamber.

- A maxed reload speed mod means you can get consecutive shots pretty easy.

 

Although Vulkar isn't part of your choices, I'd still recommend giving it a go. 6 shots per clip makes it great fun to land 6 headshots in 3(?) seconds, plus it's got decent damage (25 less than Vectis), high status chance (25%), specialises in Impact (perfect for headshotting Corpus), okay crit chance (20%), etc. etc.

It makes for a nice mixture of the hitscan, physically-damaging nature of Vectis and the clip size plus zoom of Lanka.
