Enemy Suggestion: Full Plate Moa

Full Plate Moa

The Full Plate Moa is a rarely seen weapon employed by the Corpus. It is a Moa capable of filling the purpose as a siege weapon. Layered with solid plating, elaborate mesh, and a cannon the likes of which can punch a hole in an asteroid, it is the last line of defense against Tenno incursion.

Offense:

The Full Plate Moa uses a powerful cannon which requires time to charge. The Moa will, when alerted, charge this cannon over time. When a Tenno is spotted, the Moa will aim the cannon at the Tenno and unleash a powerful burst of energy which is both quick traveling and devastating. A tenno struck by this cannon will be knocked away some distance, and their shields will take a massive hit potentially striking straight to the 'bone' and inflicting health damage.

The Full Plate Moa's cannon inflicts 150 shield/health damage initially and gains a 25 point increase every 2 levels, inflicting a max of 700 damage at level 43. This damage ceases to scale past this point.

Defense:

The Full Plate Moa is one of the most resource intensive products of the Corpus. This can be attributed heavily to its efficient frontal armor which makes it almost invulnerable to all attacks from the front. The Full Plate Moa receives 50% damage from all attacks at the front, and does not take fire or cold damage from that side. However, there is a weak point in the back of the Moa, an area of exposed armor which is necessary for what little mobility this moa has. A quick or stealthy Tenno can take full advantage of this opening to inflict 150% damage of all types.

Mobility:

The Full Plate Moa is as mobile as a sack of potatoes thanks to its otherwise daunting countenance. It turns very slowly and doesn't have the full running speed of other Moas. A Full Plate Moa can be identified by the heavy, earth shaking pounding of its footsteps. Though it turns very slowly, its cannon when fully charged fires very quickly and will immediately fire at an enemy once they're in its firing range.

Suggestions
-----------

The Full Plate Moa is far easier in a cooperative environment with proper team positioning. When alone the use of combat slides or other abilities which give increased mobility will allow the Tenno to slip behind this Moa and inflict devastating damage to it. It is important that a Tenno does not allow this moa to charge another shot if it misses with the first. If it hits, the Tenno will likely be forced to take cover to recover shields, allowing another opportunity to charge its weapon.

Not causing alarm is a good way to catch a full plate moa by surprise. A Full Plate Moa which is not alarmed will not have a fully charged cannon when the Tenno arrives.

Other Tidbits
-------------

The Full Plate moa only spawns individually. There will never be more than one in a Corpus group.

Unlike most Moas, the Full Plate Moa may not be produced from moa assemblies. They are spawned but more can not be created in the middle of combat.

The player should beware of Shockwave Moas when fighting a Full Plate Moa! A well placed shockwave could mean the death of a Tenno.

50% from all sources?

You do realise its still Metal right?

You do realise its still a Robot, right?

So why reduced damage done by electricity?
Or do they somehow add some rubber onto the front which would mean more damage from fire (from a logical sense)

50% reduction from all sources but electricity would be good so that people use the right counter to make mobs easier.  I know there are people who take every single elemental on there weapons but thats a lot of points that could be used somewhere else.

It's a refined combination of mesh and plate which operates as superior protection but is likely a heavier material than say, the plate used for the Rhino. Who also happens to have equal damage resistance against all damage types. But in the Rhino's case, it's a matter of supreme technology that allows the Rhino equal measures of protection on all sides while maintaining their maneuverability. The Moa instead has that kind of durability from the front, but has to make heavy sacrifices to their protection in the back to have more maneuverability than a stationary turret. Which, they still aren't that maneuverable at all.

Please note that I just pulled that out of my head. But, considering the Tenno has the resources to make armor that operates equally well against all damage types, I don't see why the Corpus, who seems to be a technological giant with laser weaponry, couldn't do the same. . At least, not without some sacrifices made along the way, since the Tenno has mastered this form of armor.

I don't like the suggestion (but have nothing against black Ambulas type MOAs)

how about this:

Hyena looks too good to be "boss only".

How about making it standard corpus heavy unit, significantly reduced shield and HP but still "casts" shield. Comes in pack of 2-3... ?

Hyena_2.jpg

Jackal (variations in weapons) could be the only corpus boss... ?

I think that is a great suggestion if only because the Hyena is stated to hunt in packs, but never actually does. And there's actually other Corpus bosses, though the Jackal is the only predominant one.

It'd be yet another "Shoot it until it dies" enemy though. I'd rather see an enemy that requires tactical brilliance to defeat, not another heavy skinned metal-wad intended to soak bullets for the team, like a large majority of the bosses that exist in Warframe.

The rollers are great. They're different. The disruptors are great. They're different. Corpus needs an enemy that is both different, and inspires fear, or at least a sense of hatred, because it's different. Currently, Corpus have no enemies that do that.
