Qol For Zephyr

I believe that Zephyr really needs a few quality of life buffs. Mostly to "Tail Wind" and "Tornado". These are to help the player feel more in control of your abilities since a lot of small things can lead to big problems.

 

First let's start with "Tail Wind". There are two things I dislike about this ability,

1. It is hard to see where you are going in mid dash.

2. This is the bigger problem, the cool down between activations makes it difficult to maneuver after the first dash. Because of problem 1, you have to take a second to get your baring of where you are, sadly gravity is an impatient jerk and won't wait for you or "Tail Wind" cooldown. This means you WILL drop a few meters before you can dash again or decide you are over your targets and Dive Bomb therefor losing some potential damage (since either it or Heavy Impact  gets stronger the higher you are and what Zephyr doesn't run Heavy Impact?)

3. There is still a bug where multiple uses of "Tail Wind" in the air would cause Zephyr to lose your gravity resistance. So if you use Tail Wind once straight up and once straight forward, gravity would cause you to lose 1/4 of your initial height before you can dash again. They said this frame rarely touches the ground right??

 

Now let's look at "Tornado"

1. The damage is inconsistent because there is no guarantee that an enemy would be in a tornado for X amount of time. Making it so that enemies picked up by tornadoes aren't thrown unless they have died or the tornado runs out would make it more consistent.

2. Rag dolled enemies, yes it's fun to see them thrown everywhere. No, your team mates won't like it since the enemies are constantly moving in the tornado so they can't shoot them. So it's CC that makes it harder to shoot the enemy...

3. Tornadoes changing element damage by team mates. Yes, working together it can work, but sadly that isn't normally the case. Because certain elemental damage has priority over others, it takes one mistake of a team mate to turn your "Super Effective" tornado  into a "Not Very Effective" one. Multiple times when going through Infested I would use Tornado and then use a Fire weapon on them to melt through Infested. Then one guy would sprint-slash through one, turning it to Frost damage which has a higher priority. Why should you get punished because someone else didn't look where they were going?

This bug has lived since the release of zephyr itself, but lately in a recent patch it has been fixed. Yes, you will drop a couple of meters before being able to cast again, but now its manageable.

I think she needs more than just this.  She is a flier, not an air dasher.  Her tail whip should be toggled on and off at will.  if she is on the ground, it launches her in the air.  If she is already in the air, her ability toggles on and and controlled flight is available. 

 

Dive bomb should not exist.  It is too inacurate and removes Zephyr from her element.  Tail whip already has launching damage and damage when going through enemies.  It should also incorporate landing damage based on how fast Zephyr was traveling downwards.  This will not only make Zephyr more functional, but it will also clear up an ability slot for a more team supportive abilty. 

 

Turbulance should make Zephyr even more of a light weight than what she already is, or even gravity defying.  On the ground, it does what it usually does, while in the air it keeps her floaty.  

 

Tornadoes should also support her air climbing self by giving her boosts while she is in them and keeping her airborn. 

 

Keep in mind that Zephyr was the first character concept that was created by a player.  I would look at his concept and the abilities the original concept creator came up with.
