New (15.5.8) Peacemaker Sounds

Short form: I don't like them.

 

Long form: The new sounds for Mesa's pistols sound like pop guns instead of the booming hand cannons that they were previously. I can only assume you guys were going for a more old western-style pistol sound, but you missed the mark this time (the old sounds were fine, in my opinion).

*Sigh* pre-patch Mesa's Regulator pistols sounded awesome, they really gave the impression of being a set of powerful hand cannons which quite frankly matches their appearance really well.

 

Post-patch... Well I guess putting it politely they sound like some generic small handguns that lack any identity whatsoever, which takes away quite a bit of feeling of power from that ult. Sadly the new and toned down animation isn't helping either, but I feel like the sound in this particular case is the main culprit - it is just awful.

I can agree with this. It feels much less satisfying using this ability than it did before the patch. I really hope they change it back.

They don't have nearly the "thud" or "ompf!" of the old sounds.

NEKRO BUMB. They sound like cap guns, and post patch sounded amazing, but I guess that was the mesa prime sound pack.
