Argoms
Name the games, please. Team Fortress 2 uses both, for example. And in case you haven't realized, falloff isn't literal, also what do bolt weapons have to do with this? :/ Edited May 1, 2013 by Argoms

Argoms
If everyone play with boltor they will nerf it If everyone plays with a weapon, that's a clear sign that it's overpowered. Everyone who had the hek (and didn't want to challenge themselves) played with the hek and even joked about how powerful it was, and that was a sign that it was too powerful. Not everyone plays with the boltor, and it's available much earlier than the hek. Shotguns in this game (mostly hek) were fundamentally broken because enemies could only do major damage to you while they themselves were within the range of your shotgun. Everyone knew that the hek was overpowered. The nerf was overboard, but it needed to be done in some way. The gorgon was never intended to be an accurate single-fire weapon, so that was changed. The boltor seems to be exactly what it's meant to be- a short/medium ranged automatic rifle that pierces armor, but has slow-travelling projectiles. EDIT: An explanation to anyone who didn't figure out- He's saying that now the hek and gorgon are nerfed, everyone's going to move to the boltor (false), and then it will be nerfed (also false). Basically, he's jumping to conclusions and trying to claim it's the truth. In a way, similar to a thread that's been closed recently, so this may end up the same way because it's blatantly false. Tyrian3k
DE already said that they want to take another look at the falloff and hopefully make it better in terms of range and steepness of the falloff. It's quite problematic if you barely deal any damage with a shotgun from 20 m onwards and only deal full damage up to 10 m. The nerf on the Gorgon was a total overkill. It just needed some fine-tuning on the first shots, but it seems they used a sledgehammer as their tool of choice for said fine-tuning.
