Bonus Platinum On Buy Platinum Page Misleading

Currently the prices for platinum are:

1. €3.99 for 75 platinum

2. €8.99 for 170 platinum (150 + 20 bonus)

3. €26.99 for 570 platinum (450 + 120 bonus)

4. €44.99 for 1000 platinum (750 + 250 bonus)

5. €89.99 for 2100 platinum (1500 + 600 bonus)

From the first price you can calculate the base price per platinum, which is €3.99 / 75 platinum = €0.0532 per platinum. This value can be used to calculate the correct price for the other options, by multiplying the non-bonus platinum with the price per platinum, which results in the following values:

2. 150 platinum * €0.0532 = €7.98 instead of €8.99 (a difference of €1.01)

3. 450 platinum * €0.0532 = €23.94 instead of €26.99 (a difference of €3.05)

4. 750 platinum * €0.0532 = €39.90 instead of €44.99 (a difference of €5.09)

5. 1500 platinum * €0.0532 = €79.80 instead of €89.99 (a difference of €10.19)

Another way to look at this is how many bonus platinum you are actually getting compared to the bonus that is promised. You can calculate the expected price without any discount, by multiplying the platinum you get by the cost per platinum. When you subtract the actual cost from this you get the discount value. If you divide the discount value by the cost per platinum you get the actual amount of bonus platinum.

2. 170 platinum * €0.0532 = €9.044 expected cost, so (€9.044 - €8.99) / €0.0532 = 1,015037594 bonus (not 20)

3. 570 platinum * €0.0532 = €30.324 expected cost, so (€30.324 - €26.99) / €0.0532 = 62.66917293 bonus (not 120)

4. 1000 platinum * €0.0532 = €53.20 expected cost, so (€53.20 - €44.99) / €0.0532 = 154.3233083 bonus (not 250)

5. 2100 platinum * €0.0532 = €111.72 expected cost, so (€111.72 - €89.99) / €0.0532 = 408.4586466 bonus (not 600)

So my point is, either make the platinum cheaper for the higher value bundles, or lower the bonus platinum values so that they are correct. Now the page is misleading and is a cheap sales trick. I was considering buying 170 platinum, so that I get 20 bonus platinum, meaning one free warframe slot. However, now I will go for the 75 platinum, because I do not need the 170 platinum yet and 1 bonus platinum does not get me to pay more in advance.

Finally I would like to say that I do enjoy this game very much, so a very good job there. I just do not like it when companies try to trick me, using some discount that seems higher than it actually is.

Perhaps someone has been lazy when they've changed it from one currency to another, maybe the bonus platinum was correct for the pricing in dollars or something.

Although it will look funny if they actually correct it "(150 + 1 Bonus platinum)", so I guess they'll go on giving misinformation instead.

Let's see how much do we get ripped off in Europe compared to the Americans.

3.99€ for 75 platinum = 5.22$ we pay 4.6% more in Europe.

8.99€ for 170 platinum = 11.75$ we pay 17.6% more in Europe.

Doubt they want to fix it they'd lose money, but 170 platinum should cost 7,99€. If they fix it are they gonna compensate everyone who bought bigger platinum packs than 75pt with extra platinum? Could even be illegal to mislead people with prices like this.

The conversion is worse than you may think, the founders packs are labelled in dollars but paid for in Euros.

Base founders pack is claimed to be 20 dollars, paid for in 17.99 Euros which equals 23.6 USD. That is a big difference.

The biggest founders back claims to be 250 USD, but when paid for in euros turns out to be 294 USD, Thats massive.

Best to not buy any platinum till they fix it, maybe then they'll actually consider doing something about it. Plus you might end up saving some money by getting more for the same price.

Well one week later no fix yet, sometimes when I click on the page (using steams inbuilt browser) the prices show up in dollars instead and get converted to euros, but you can't pay using those prices, it get's cancelled.

Anyway if you buy 170 platinum atm you pay 12.5% too much it should cost 7,99€ not 8,99€. So don't buy any platinum. (all packages except the 75 platinum are probably incorrectly priced)

Okay, just to give everyone a heads up.  If you have an issue with a purchase in the in-game market or purchase of platinum on the website, you should submit a support request using the http://support.warframe.com/ link at the bottom of all warframe.com pages under Support heading.  I used this per DESteve's recommendation when I saw a discrepancy when purchasing color palettes in-game one at a time instead of all at once using the bundle.  The support team quickly refunded my 94 platinum once I confirmed for them that I had purchased all of the palettes in the bundle.

It is funny that the dollar prices are also not 100% correct, because of magic sales math (rounding up to the nearest $.99). Naturally this fact is just for fun, because $0.19 or about 2.86 bonus platinum is neglectable.

I hope they fix the euro prices soon, even though it will be too late for me.
