Kethus
IRC is short for Internet Relay Chat and it allows many people to gather together and chat in the same room, much like Warframe's Region... Actually exactly like Warframe's Region, Warframe uses IRC for its chatrooms (but they are password protected and can't be accessed from outside the game D: ). Did you know twitch uses IRC too? Me neither until today. This page explains how to join any twitch channel via three of the IRC clients, but it's possible with any client really (and if you don't have a client and don't want to install one you just go to warframe's twitch page, duh. just make the chat pop out). Only thing is it seems that only these three clients will remember all the stuff you input and you wont have to do it every time. To login through any client go here, see your code, then enter these three lines: /nick yourtwitchusernamelowercase /server irc.twitch.tv 6667 oauth:yourcodethingie /join #twitchchannelnamelowercase Currently there are 11 afkers at #warframe expecting a surprise giveaway or something. /r/Warframe also has an IRC channel that's really easy to miss, because who ever reads the welcoming topic in detail. It's located on irc.snoonet.org and can be accessed from the browser from here. So with this you have a global quasi-region chat you can access from anywhere, anytime, even if Warframe's chat server decides to take a nap. [DE]Momaw
Warframe itself, the game, uses a flavor of IRC for its in game chat. Though it doesn't like uninvited guests so don't bother trying to get in with your favorite IRC client.
