nzzero
Here is my take on pvp that would not require any rebalancing of pve content to be viable. >Each player starts with his loadout of choice (warframe, weapons). The items in loadout are treated as having no mod cards equipped. >For completing a goal in the ongoing match (scoring a kill, capturing a flag, point, dealing damage or whatever the conditions may be for that match) player earns [currency] that lasts for the duration of the match. >Each mod would have a [currency] cost assigned to it, set to reflect its potency in a pvp enviroment. >By spending [currency] player can unlock a mod he possesses (has acquired and leveled it in PVE content) and assign it to the weapon/frame for the duration of the match. For example, Loki's switch teleport has a bigger cost to equip then invisibility in PVE. In PVP match, invisibility's [currency] cost would be much bigger then switch teleport's because its more useful in PVP enviroment. The higher the mod rank, the higher the [currency] cost as well. Some mods, namely some frames' ultimates would have [currency] cost so big you would not be able to equip anything else for the duration of the match to save up for it. That would put a player at a disatvantage for the most part of the game, but he could make up for it after reaching his goal. Decisions Decisions. Balancing the game would still center around PVE and in case of serious PVP balance issues, all that would have to be done is to increase that one mod's [currency cost] by setting the starting [currency] and max [currency] conditions players could create matches that begin with already powerful frames, or cap it at an early point to restrict to low lvl gear only for the enjoyment of new players. thoughts? kenster24
I guess its a good idea but they still aren't going to make pvp anytime soon, or there might not be pvp forever.
Gatanotoah
Sounds somewhat feasible, but far too intricate for my taste. I don't think there is any place for PvP in this game anyway, so takt that with a grain of salt.
Phoenix86
No need, it's not gonna be developed anytime soon. Duels as are going to be soon are: "Turn friendly fire: ON" Go kill each other. That's it.

This^ They dont have any intention to introduce any sort of "huge" pvp. You will get duels. But that will be it.
Felandi
If you truly want pvp in warframe. Why not expand on possible minigames within the coming Dojo? We have the dojo that allows duels between to people, (Will be hilarious, as you can use anything you can normally use on enemies against each other) so why not a shooting range? Two ranges with a tenno on each side. A button at each. To start the game you both click it at once. Targets of grineer, M.O.A's and other enemies begin to appear in either a serious or amusing fashion. Towards the end one of the ranges displays 'Winner!' the other says '"Well Fought!." The second in red letters, of course. ;) Could even place a sheet of glass between the two rangers, so at the corner of your eye you can see what your opponent is hitting, and the steadily rising point counter. conveniently placed at the back of the windows. So both can see theirs and their opponents. If you think in these lines, a lot of fun can be had with 'pvp', without implementing true pvp! I would sure do it. Especially if there were leader boards for such mini games. Edited May 20, 2013 by Felandi
