Mithikal
Over the last couple of days i've been working on a few mudbox renders to use in a Warframe trailer that I want to make. This is the current stage i'm at and i'm struggeling to produce a realistic metallic texture so if anyone has any experiance let me know. Current Render Some work in progress pics. Nevrmoor
try experimenting with some noise bumpmaps and some higher reflection settings, maybe you can set the reflection to additive or metallic or something like that. i think shallow depth and low contrast would do the trick on the bumpmaps. Looks very nice so far, keep it going! See you in space, Cowboy!
Mithikal
Added a scratched metal effect using some randomised thin line bumpmaps as suggested and brought up the specular for the metalic regions, it's looking a lot better already, thanks for the help. Nevrmoor
very nice! what software are you using for this? do you have a full body model?
Mithikal
I'm using Maya and Mudbox, the ingame heads are alot more detailed than the rest of the body textures so once I have finished this I will move onto that stage.
DiBBz
hmm i would use 3D Max and cinema 4D , 3D max has great modeling tools and cinema 4D has awesome color mixtures and great texture options

Mithikal
3D Max, cinema 4D and Maya all do the same thing, it's just a matter of preference. Both are Industry standards in different fields but Maya is offered free to Students. Same with Zbrush and Mudbox.
