Questions About Forma And Damage

I recently watched a video on "The Ultimate Dread Build" in which the person mentioned forma and how adding a mod could completely destroy any use of it, and in the same video that weapon was doing upwards of 13000 damage. What is forma, and how did he achieve that damage count?

Forma doesn't Increase the damage it just reduces the cost by half of the mod that has the corresponding polarity, or in other words adding polarities.

 

Serration is a V Polarity so if you put a forma to add a V polarity, you will reduce the cost of the mod, Serration at max rank takes 14 points but if you place it in the polarity it will be 7.

 

by the why you can add as many formas as you want but i wont increase the points you have which are 60(with orokin catalyst) and 30(no catalyst) assuming you have it max level.

Forma adds (or changes) a polarity of your choosing on a slot on a weapon or warframe and, as a consequence, resets a weapons level 0.

 

In short, it lets you put more mods, or mods that cost more mod points, on your weapons/frames
