Soma Prime Build

So I have two builds for Soma Prime, but I am wondering which one is more effective for higher levels.

 

Build 1:

-Serration

-Heavy Caliber

-Split Chamber

-Shred

-Point Strike

-Vital Sense

-90% Element Mod

-90% Element Mod

 

Build 2:

-Serration

-Heavy Caliber

-Split Chamber

-Hammer Shot

-Point Strike

-Vital Sense

-90% Element Mod

-90% Element Mod

 

Main difference is that Build 1 has Shred where Build 2 has Hammer Shot. Otherwise both builds are the same.

Hammershot is a net dps loss with no real redeeming value on the SomaP.

 

Your Build1 pretty much covers what the SomaP is.

 

The only alternatives would be substituting another 90% mod or VA for HC. The former would be a slight dps loss, but would be a much more usuable gun at range for getting headshots. The latter would have dps comparable to HC, but at the cost of a much twitchier gun that will need a lot of trigger discipline to avoid running it dry right and left.

I have yet to find a gun where i would slot Hammershot, I don't think this mod is worth the slot.

Build 1 all the way (i'm running the same).
