0 Stormdragon
By that logic, Galatine would also be included. So. Does Excalibur also get a 10% speed/damage buff with the Galatine? It is, after all, a sword. Galatine is a heavy blade, working more like a slightly sharpened steel club. But well, you can post a petition for both galatine and war specifically to be added to excal passive if you want it (instead of heavy blade class to exclude scindo) That doesn't change how rapiers are just another class of swords, used during renaissance in countries like Italy, Spain, Franch and in a style currently used as a sport (Fencing). As we all know, Excalibur is a swordmaster from future highly trained in the use of weapons from the past (our time or older) and mastering different school styles (being the German sword school the one used for longswords, currently "recognized" in his passive) I still see no reason no to add rapiers to his passive other than I must refuse. 0 TheFatDrake
Excalibur has improved mastery in the Tenno art of the blade, receiving +10% attack speed and +10% damage when dealing melee attacks (including via Exalted Blade) while wielding the following weapons: Longswords: Broken War Cronus Dakra Prime Dark Sword Ether Sword Heat Sword Jaw Sword Mire Pangolin Sword Plasma Sword Prisma Skana Skana Skana Prime Dual Swords: Dex Dakra Dual Cleavers (Axes) Dual Ether Dual Heat Swords Dual Ichor (Axes) Dual Kamas (Scicles) Dual Kamas Prime (Scicles) Dual Raza (Scicles) Dual Skana Dual Zoren (Axes) Nami Skyla Prisma Dual Cleavers (Axes) Twin Basolk (Axes) Nikanas: Nikana Dragon Nikana There's one other type of single handed sword that isn't on this list. Machetes: Machete Machete Wraith Kama (Scicle) Prova Nami Solo Prova Vandal Excalibur excels at using swords that can be operated with one hand. Heavy blades are slow and...well.... HEAVY, sure, Galatine is a sword, but using that sword uses a different set of skills than wielding the Skana/Dual Skana/Dragon Nikana. You have to worry about the weight of the blade more. Should the rapier be on his passive buff? Sure, I don't see why not. Should heavy blades? No, they don't entirely fit with the theme of the passive. Should machetes? If you're going to add the rapier, then you should add the machetes as well. they are a single handed sword after all. Can't argue about the machete, as it's just a sword with a really really bad PR rep. Do have to nitpick about the Nikanas though - unless you're using an Iaido strike (which, admittedly, is the basis for a LOT of all three of our stances) and gripping the weapon as far towards the kashira as you possibly can (quite likely with your ring finger and pinky hanging off the end), you're probably at a minimum touching the sword with your second hand each swing to accelerate the blade immediately prior to the strike, if not outright constantly using a two handed grip. About Galatine... I'm only half serious about it. A greatsword, even though it becomes more of a bashing weapon, is still a sword. Fencing doesn't use rapiers. Foils, epees, and sabers. Saber being the closest, since a slashing attack is allowed.
