Saryn+Ignis(Or Primary Weapon In General), How Does It Work Gameplay Wise?

Question

I'm not a huge fan of being forced using 3-4 powers to get a result and I'm not a melee only fan either, but I heard that Saryn can use Ignis or any status primary and combo it with Spores getting good effects.

What I'm wondering is, how does it work exactly? What's the sequence and the logic behind it?

Thanks!

>Rad+Toxin Ignis, built for status (i personally use Serration, Heavy Caliber, Split Chamber, High Voltage, Thermite Rounds, Malignant Force, Vile Acceleration and Rifle Ammo Mutation).

>Cast Spores on a target (or a couple).

>Spray with Ignis spreading the Viral proc through popped Spores and the Toxin one through the gun.

>Miasma the S#&$ out if everything that's left.

>???

>Profit.

Alternate path: bring another frame and build the Ignis for Rad+Viral and enjoy the Saryn effect with another set of skills.

I personally found Sayn excels as a melee specialist now. Other builds are meh.

You think the melee build is better than the primary one?

Personally? Yeah.

I went:
Corrosive Projection
Exilus Handspring
- Transient Fortitude
- Intensify
- Stretch
- Streamline
- Primed Continuity
- Rage
- Vitality
- Regenerative Molt

Pair it with a crit weapon, i feel like Mios is the best because of range but i've been using Tipedo with great success as well. Don't forget your Life Strike. Done.

You've got enough surviveability through Life Strike and Regenerative Molt, access to the Naramon Shadow Step passive, enough damage to last deep into endgame particularly with Mios, it has around 45% Slash damage and 25% status, so use a status build (PP, Virulent Scourge+Voltaic Strike, Body Count, Blood Rush, Organ Shatter, Berserker and a rank 0 Life Strike) and watch the Bleed procs tick in the order of several thousands... 90% DR on blocking is no joke, and with the right weapon you can do devastating damage both upfront and through DoTs (Toxin and Bleed). Toxin deals an extra 55.5% of your total damage and then ticks 11 times in 10 seconds for 27.75% of your total damage, topping at 305.25% of your total damage...

On top of that, since Toxin Lash scales off your total damage, when your combo counter is up you'll be able to get humongous amounts of Toxin damage through ticks.

EDIT: oh, and being that you'll Spore stuff to double your damage output you'll also have a steady flow of energy through poping Spores with Toxic Lash.

Ignis is a held Flamethrower that covers the entire effective range with AoE damage.

Meaning, once yu burst a Spore in the AoE of yur Ignis, and if any other targets besides yur initial Spored target are hit, they will have their Spores auto popped too since yur Ignis is still firing in that AoE.

As for melee, Toxic Lash + Redeemer is op as hell when yu Spore 1 dood in a crowd, and just Charge attack the entire mob.

Instant energy.

I personally use the Embolist to do the same as described with the Ignis, but it has shorter range. Boon is that I have now 1 additional Toxin proc to burst with my Miasma.

Right, though I'm not very confident with melee only, so I'd rather use a primary to sync with my powers!

I see; though, I always feel like a melee build is somehow short in range, isn't it? I'd like to spread spores and deal damage to the max number of enemies possible without having to be in close combat!

Not any status gun. You'd want AoE guns with multiple ticks.

The logic is the AoE hits will always pop spores, and if you hit multiple enemies multiple times in a short period the damage will stack in a rapid succession dealing huge DoT. The status is good because spores carry toxin damage, so you'd want a toxin or gas weapons for the damage to echo between each target.

I prefer having Torid and Hikou prime for my ranged Saryn. Hikou prime with concealed explosive for low level enemies (from lvl 1-100) because it kills fast while Torid is for endless missions.

You can use Atomos, Ignis or Synoid simulor instead of Hikou if you don't like self damage.

That's the problem yeah. Mios partially solves that due to its high range.
