status chance and channeling efficiency

Hello, would someone or lots of people please put into plain english what " status chance " is please, is it when you add a mod with extra damage that isnt slash/puncture/impact the chance that the installed mod will work OR is it when 2 mods ( fire and toxin for example ) are installed together is this the chance modifier that radiation/blast/magnetic damage will occur?

 

what is channelling efficiency? and how does it work? and more importantly WHAT DOES IT DO?

Status chance is the chance a shot from a weapon has to proc a status effect. Every damage type, be it physical, elemental or elemental combination, has a different status effect.

Channeling is the act of pressing LMB (default) to make your warframe and melee weapon shine. The has the effect of: whenerver you hit an enemy you'll deal an extra 50% damage, at the cost of 5 energy (these two values are the unmoddified ones). Channeling Efficiency makes either, cost less (when possitive) or more (when negative) energy per hit.

Beware that the channeling mods that you may encounter while playing applies their effects only while channeling and thus the stats of the weapon (other than the channeling cost) seem unmoddified while viewing them on the arsenal.

Status chance is just the chance for a status to proc (fire dot, slash dot, confusion, hp reduction, armor reduction, poison dot). Your elemental damage will apply every hit regardless of status chance. Channeling efficiency is how much energy is drained when you channel and melee an enemy. A high channeling efficency will drain energy slowly while a low efficiency will drain energy quickly. Channeling increases the damage your melee weapon will do.
