R5 fusion cores dropping on low level missions

Been playing a ton of low level defense missions to rank up my potatoed weapons or just to credit farm, and have noticed a fairly regular R5 fusion core drop at about wave 6 or 8.

Has anyone else noticed this? has this always been the case or did they bump up the chance of a Gold core drop?

Nope, nothing like this here. Just another instance of freak RNG imho.

Though, it would be funny, if DE would put in random weights on drop rates for each player individually. Just in order to mess with us. Would definitely explain my vast collection of Ember prime helmets.
