Why cant i host?

about half the time i play the game wont let me invite other players the invite option simply doesnt show up

on the flip side sometimes i can host and invite people just fine

i have a decent connection and other players with poor connections seem to be able to host

so what gives?

Are you actually in a squad when you try to host? There will be squad chat available if you are. If you're not just walk up to the starchart and activate it and that automatically puts you in a squad as long as you're not set to solo and you should be able to invite people from there

In a squad, Chat is there (Invite Present)

 

 

 

You will need to stay in the starchart until someone joins the squad though or else it will automatically disband itself when you leave

Have you checked your ping limit in the options? That might have something to do with it. They might be limiting their group options (friends only etc) too. I personally solo the majority of the time and if I am with someone, it is clan mates or trades. I've never seen the invite greyed out though.
