"Just a second." He says.

He retirves a long thick bundle from under his bed and unwraps it.

It is a dread with fifteen arrows in a quiver.

He slings it on his back.

"Okay." He says. "Let's go get her back."

On the way, Alice asks "Where do you have that bow from? It's the Stalker's old signature weapon."

"Gift from my dad." He says. "And by gift I mean I took it from his room after mom died before I burned the place to the ground."

They pull over.

"Now." Phil says. "Alright boys, unload the gear and get to work."

The transports have stopped outside a large village. There are crops in fields that span as far as the eye can see.

Several farmers are tending to crops across the area. One is very unusual. She wears the same clothes as the others but you can see signs of cloning decay on her hands and face. She is tending to a bed of flowers with a tender look on her face.

*She steps out, eyeing over, a slight squint to try get a clear view* "This is a wonderful place.."

Many of the farmers wear the Loka symbol on their clothing. The architecture is also similar to what one would expect.

Suddeny an alarm begins to wail.

"Pillows!" Someone shousts. "A pillow is approaching!"

Everyone grabs a rifle or pistol and rushes towards the source of the sound.

Someone yells again and points to a approaching white mass.

The farmers load and aim their rifles.

From a distance the white mass seems to resemble a soft blanket drifting gently over the ground.

*She opens fire, then quickly reloads, she gets higher and casts Spellbind* "Be bound by dust!"

A large portion of the herd turn and run towards the floating Fluffle.

Rounds tear into the rest.

"Reload and fire at will." Phil says. "Twenty five meters till the mines."

More of them are torn to shreds by the razor flies.

The Pillow thins considerably, but still continues on its course.

"Drones!" Phil commands. "Fumigate."

Sapping Ospreys fly overhead and drop their mines in the path of the Pillow.

"Sir!" Another farmer says. "Another Pillow attacking from the south!"

Phil looks up.

"A pincher assault ehh?" He asks. "Clever furballs. Johnson, take a company and some pheromone launchers and distract them."

One of the farmers salutes and grabs a launcher and several canisters labeled caution.

*She re-casts spellbind as one runs, she then casts Tribute on it, blasting it back, then gathers its soul, its Entangle* "Keep it up!"

Slowly the horde thins.

Just when it seems victory might be near a young lad runs up to Phil.

"Papa!" He says. "The Gardenias."

He is clutching a wilted and nibbled flower.

"Philip send a squad."

"We cannae spare anyone sah!" The man says. "Or we will be overrun."

"But the gardenias." Phil says, tears on his eyes. "The children."

"A distraction will buy us time." Someone says. "They knew the risks."

Phil collapses to his knees, holding the flower like it is a wounded soldier.

"Sir!" Someon calls. "Another Pillow from the east."

"Two Pillows, mobilizing in the west." Another call says. "We cannot hold them all."

Phil looks at his son.

"I'm sorry Junior." He says. "Sometimes sacrifices must be made. Abandon the gardenia's. Pull your friends back here."

He stands with renewed purpose.

"They can gnaw at our plains..." he says.

"For the love of all that is edible shut up and tell us what to do!" Someone shouts. "Before we lose the harvest!"

Phil raises his hand.

"Release the Jackals." He says. "Release the hounds. Thompson, get me my Ignis!"

He faces the west.

"Tenno, take the children and hold the East." He says. "I will hold the west."

"Bur sir there are too many of them." Someone says.

"Then bring me two Ignis and tell my wife I will not make it to Lunch." He commands. "Sometimes sacrifices must be made."

He accepts the two flamethrowers and marches towards the encroaching white mass.

She accepts both.

"This one for groceries." She says. "And this one for glitter."

Seven takes the second stick.

"You mean for glitter removal." He says.

The reason why becomes apparent when Sara hands you the recipe. It calls for one gallon of pink glitter.

Interspersed in the instructions are orders to "spread glitter" around the cooking space to "infuse the environment with sparkles and happiness."

He grinned once his eyes caught the instruction mentioning the glitter-o-calypse and its necessity for the cooking. This was the kind of positive silliness that he himself and those whom he leads were devoided, but worked each day so the others could see the brighter side of existence and "infuse the environment with sparkles and happiness".

"We bid you a productive day, civilians, and thank you for your services," he said to Seven and Sara, turning to his two companions.

"Now, it is time for us to move to the defense district and to brace ourselves, for you may suspect who is..." his HUD interrupted the phrase. He looked onto it and his face lost the previous merriness. It appears that he and Bloom share the resentment of unexpected turns of events.

He messaged Melanie:

"The arrival of troopers is delayed due to a situation in Origins. Estimated time - from five to seven hours from this moment. I will inform on the status if anything changes"

He refocused back on Alan. "Seems like we won't steal Tak from hs duties any longer. To the monastery that is"
