So does argon still drop in void for I've been farming about two or three hours and haven't got any...

Yes it does, I get it every now and then while running an exterminate mission, but it's a rarer drop at the moment (from what I can tell).  If you don't have an exilis mod that opens locked crates (30% chance) then your chances go down more.

My advice is, treat it like how Neurodes / Neural Sensors go (except the killing bosses / mini-bosses for it part).

Lockers, Containers and a Nekros / Ivara for extra tries and many, many kills.
