Traces - How does this happen?

Something i dont get is the trace drops and heres why

Me and a friend did a fissure cple nights ago. (+ 2 randoms)

He was round the edges shooting stuff and i was running the parts to close the fissure in between shooting stuff.

After it finished he had 15 traces and i had 7.... wtf? and its not the first time.

 

In all the stuff in warframe if a mod drops for example it is there for everyone to pick up.

 

Why are traces not the same so we all have a chance to get some, im trying to help the team by getting the job done and i get rewarded less.

Did he have double drops active? Otherwise, you just missed some traces. They glow like rare mods for your friend so if he's seeing some that you haven't picked up, he should probably be marking them for you to help out.

They drop like resources, everyone's exact number is a bit different, you just got a bit unlucky but it doesn't sound out of the norm
