Is there a way to set a piece of equipment to it's default color without it using the 'checkered box'?

As the thread title asks: Is there a way to set a piece of equipment back to it's default colors without it reverting to the 'checkered box' as the displayed color on the appearance menu?

The main reason I ask this is mainly because I want to see what The new Nova skin looks like using Nova prime's default colors. But because of the way the color system works right now, the default color automatically shifts from that of Nova prime, to the new skins color the moment I select the skin.

I've tried going through all the color palette to see if nova prime's colors are somewhere within them, but none of them are, so the best I can do is find the closest option to those colors and use them.

As far as I know, you can't, directly. You can view the colours themselves via "copy warframe colours" on any weapon/cosmetic attachment options. I'm afraid guessing is as good as it'll get, as far as I know.
