Warframe Concept Idea: Vaara, The Living Electromagnet! (Original Thread)

Well I enjoy reading fanframe concepts and often give some critique on them. Yours is an idea that definitely has some potential.

Power 1

Sand Spike: VAARA forms his Steel Sand into 3/3/4/5 large spikes that seek out and strike enemies for 95/120/130/150 damage. If this results in a kill, the target will be impaled, and the spike can hit another target on the way. If the target survives, he is staggered for a brief moment.

OR

Asphyxiate: VAARA sends 3/3/4/5 Steel Sand cords through the ground to seek out and strangle enemies for 100/110/130/150

damage. If the target survives, he will be trapped momentarily by the cords.

Both are fine and comparable to other first abilities in terms of both utility and damage(except Slash Dash of course).

Power 2

Steelstorm: Casting a shield of Steel Sand around his body, VAARA rotates rapidly, knocking all enemies within .2/.5/1/1.5 meters flying back 5/6/7/10 meters, and inflicting 50/75/100/130 damage to them. The shield lasts for 2/3/4/5 seconds

OR

Magnetic Slash: VAARA forms his Sand into a coating on his melee weapon, increasing it's Armor Piercing damage by 30/40/50/65% This also increases his Melee Attack Speed by 15/20/20/25% Effect lasts for 5/6/7/8 seconds.

Steelstorm is clearly different from Ember's Overheat and serves an utility purpose, but the duration is too short/

Magnetic Slash is pretty powerful but that's countered by its short duration, so fair enough.

Power 3

Paralyzing Smog: VAARA spreads a mist of fine Steel Dust through the crowd, then locks it into place with a strong magnetic jolt. Any enemy in the cloud will be unable to move for the duration of the attack. The effect lasts for 5/7/9/12 seconds, and when it ends, all survivors are hit for 70/80/90/110 damage, ignoring armor. VAARA can move at 20/30/40/50% of his base movement speed while the effect is in place. Any enemies that walk into this cloud of dust will suffer the same fate as those who were initially hit by it. The cloud covers a 4/4/4/5 meter radius in all directions.

OR

Mind Spike: VAARA creates a steel rod that he shoots at the brain of an enemy, allowing VAARA to use magnetic force to disrupt the electrical impulses in the brain. This causes the affected enemy to kill one of his comrades. Once one/one/one/two kills are made by the said individual, he dies. Bosses are not affected by this power.

Smog's radius is too small, Bastille is pretty much clearly a better choice since 110 damage isn't going to hurt at all, even if increased by Focus. Try another secondary effect, like exploding outwards and throwing any survivors outside of the effective area when the ability ends.

Mind Spike is mostly OK, and the delayed instant-kill is balanced by the need to murder other enemies. Mind Control costs less and is better in many ways though.

Power 4

Anvil Strike: VAARA creates a massive steel block, and drops it on the crowd, dealing massive damage, over a 10 square meter area. It knocks back all enemies within 7 meters of the actual anvil 5/9/12/15 meters.

OR

Make it Rain: VAARA forms his Steel Sand into small nails, which hail down on enemies within 10/11/12/15 meters, inflicting massive damage. Anything that does not die will be knocked down.

Both abilities are OK, with the second being a little similar to Sound Quake but not being restricted by movement.

Well, looks like I was wrong about that! =)  I am going to donate 100$ to become a founder today, and Vaara will be slapped onto the polls for next frame after Antimatter. Someone, please do some concept art for Vaara, as I SUCK at doing that kind of stuff!
