Isn't Shield Osprey an overpowered unit?

Man, I didn't say the ospray is completely bad! The opposite! It's okay to have such units in there, but it glowing like a freakin star is the problem.

So not only is the thread title misleading, but you put it in the wrong forum? This should be in Art & Animation Feedback (as it's largely visual) rather than Gameplay Feedback.

That aside- I agree, the glow is a bit much.

Here's a fun fact for any groups that run with a Loki; enemies that have been hit by Radial Disarm can't be shielded by a Shield Osprey. Rhino players could use Iron Skin to get close to the mob, then use their final power to stun them all. You have a varied arsenal of skills and powers: use them.

Several powers do wonders in these situations, as well as shield ospreys really aren't that strong and the shields they give aren't all that strong.

The difficulty with shooting passed the flare of energy is that the flare is coming from their lowest point and is where the shield beams start from. Since the osprey can tilt side to side, sometimes it isn't right above the flare. Still, you generaly can spray and pray or quick fire any gun above and near the flare to get the osprey.

When there is a big group of enemies being shielded, you would need to keep your distance anyway because they would kill you whether they are shielded or not.

Keeping the flare from being so bright if it is not intended to be that way would be nice, but if it is the intention, then making sure everyone has to deal with it would be good. Either way, the shield osprey is a nice alternative at times. It isn't overpowered, just a minor learning experience.
