But i got "you cannot enter your dojo because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings.". If you don't have gold, that could be the reason. Tried to party up with someone who didn't have Gold. Game would only let him play Solo. BUT, he only used the free weekend version.
