Trees placing in the dojo

Hi everyone,
I wanted to add a few maple trees to my dojo's greatest grandhall but so far the system doesn't let me.
Useless to say that I already tried scaling and rotating them multiple times but unless I make them become of the same size as a bonsai the grid always shows red.
Does any of you have any tips ? Even just creative ones for decorating once I manage to make this work ( implying I can ) . 
I have more than enough capacity anyway...just in case someone thought that might have been the case.

There's a small thread I started in the feedback area based on that exact thing. Maybe if enough people let DE know about it, they'll "save the trees", hehe... Anyway, really, the scanboxes are just wonky, there's really not much you can do until they update it.
