Vaulted Relics

Im just a little confused, last night I got a Scindo blade, now I know that the Scindo is vaulted, but because I had the relic in my inventory and i used said relic i was still able to get the item?

I thought that when it was vaulted the relic just selected from the unvaulted items in the reward list.

Although the weapon/frame is vaulted, if you still have a relic for it you can still have it as a reward

Only relics are vaulted, not prime parts. If you already have relics you can get all their rewards.

To be fair relics haven't been a thing for that full year, and in the days of the Void keys it WAS the prime parts themselves that got vaulted.
