Do Madurai passives screw up status proc chances?

Let's say I have a wapon with two damage elements on it.  Radiation and Corrosive.  High status chance.  So whenever I fire I have a 50/50 chance (or however its weighted based on damage amounts) to apply one or the other.

Now I activate Madurai focus, I get 10% (no i havent upgraded) slash/puncture/impact.  Those also (appear to) proc as well, since I occasionally see the slash proc symbol.  Do those ruin the ratio of my elemental only damage procs?  Is it suddenly choosing from IPS + whats on the weapon?  Or are those IPS procs from madurai independent somehow?

If it is the former, it really makes me rethink my desire to use madurai with elemental only weapons.

It's the former. The passives add a percentage of your base damage as additional IPS damage and IPS damage is multiplied by 4 in status probability.

I.E. IPS procs are more heavily waited than elemental procs in status probability so you're more likely to get IPS procs

if you have like 100 radiation and 100 corrosive that would be a 50/50 chance. if you activate the 10% slash damage it will become something like ~36% radiation, ~36% corrosive, ~28% slash damage due to IPS being far more likely to proc
