Bug with Mutalist Cernos and Elemental Mods

Question

If you add a non-toxin elemental mod to the Mutalist Cernos, such as Hellfire, Cryo Rounds or Stormbringer, instead of simply combining the elemental addition with toxin, it will combine the two elements and also add the element damage separately again.

An example:

The Cernos does 225,1 physical damage plus 50 toxin damage. Adding maxed Hellfire removes the toxin damage, adds 95.0 gas damage, and also adds 202.5 fire damage.

If you add in one more element, they add up normally. If the third element is added, it behaves like above.

This doesn't seem to happen with other weapons, at least not with the Silva & Aegis or the Ignis.

Sorry for german language client, hope it's understandabel nevertheless

Edit: For some reason the pictures didn't show up, uploaded the pictures into an imgur album.

That's probably because of the two instances of damge.
The arrow deals damage on impact. That's what the IPS-damage is for. Then the arrow deals damage over time. That's the toxin damage.
So if you add Hellfire, the impact will deal additional fire damage, and the damage over time will change into gas damage.
I see no problem here.

Ah, so the damage instances are separated for instant and dot, which doesn't seem to be the case with any other single elemental damage dealing weapons I have. This would explain this behaviour, thanks :)

Because the Mutalist Cernos doesn't behave the way other weapons do. If the arrow lands somewhere, it will make a cloud dealing toxin damage. And this cloud deals the DoT. For example the bolt from a Boltor doesn't make a cloud dealing damage the way the Mutalist Cernos does.
