Infested Moa Resistances in Salvage

I have just switched to PC from PS4 about 2 months ago, and I figured the best weapon for early game was Paris Prime. Good damage for pretty easy to obtain parts and mods. It got me pretty much all over the map, but salvage has been impossible with it. After getting to rotation C in salvage, I start seeing moas which resist this bow: https://goo.gl/TjTFeV to only take 702 damage when it deals over 5,000 without a headshot.  Can someone explain to me how this is happening because the math has not been adding up to me?

Ancient Healers, Eximus Types that resist the Damage Types you're using, hitting Body Part Multipliers that reduce Damage.
any and all of the above.

combat this by breaking Auras, Target Prioritization, aiming for Weakpoints, Et Cetera.
