how do you even get a smeeta kavat

Never gotten smeeta before, and am stuck with getting adarza 5 or 6 times in a row. 2 different clan members gave me imprints of their smeetas, still get adarza. wtf? do I need to stop rushing incubation or something? I read a post saying the chances are 50-50, but even with imprints I still get an adarza

A trade may be a good idea for you here, you may find someone willing to trade you a smeeta set for one of your adarza sets.

All pet breeding is subject to the wrath of the RNG God's fellow Tenno, i for one know the pain well. I may however have a spare smeeta set for trade ^^ :) 

Feel free to contact ingame same IGN (2 of the same imprints are needed to make the type you need, mixing will give 50/50 results)

in addition the new Nexus Skin and colours from Baro look so good :)

its ok now, finally broke and bought 2 imprints for 95p... got smeeta at last. still pretty angry that I used about 300p and get 5 adarza in a row though

If you had two smeeta imprints at any one time and used them both during incubation you would have gotten a smeeta guaranteed.  If you used 1 smeeta per incubation and let fate decide, well then that's whatever you got then.
