Update 9 And The Illusion Of Choice

I'm a little uncomfortable with the dual-effect Nightmare mods.

 

Armor piercing damage is good. I would go so far as to say it's mandatory. Now, in Update 9, armor piercing takes up two mod slots on shotguns. The Accelerated Blast mod takes away an interesting choice and replaces it with an obvious one. The same goes for Continuity and Constitution. I want to run a fun mod like Rush or Enemy Sense, but now I feel obliged to stack an additional duration mod instead.

 

Are there more dual-effect mods coming? In a few months, will every loadout start with multishot + damage + AP + multishot/damage + multishot/AP + damage/AP?
