Glide Button changes depending on active weapon

Question

I always get confused about which button to press to glide. If my active weapon is a primary or secondary, gliding is L2. If my active weapon is my melee, gliding is R2. Not remembering which button glides is the leading cause of my falling in pits and losing that great feeling of flow.

I would really love it if the glide button didn't ever change, because then I could get used to it and find it without needing to think. If this was a setting I had to change in the menu, that would be fine!

Personally, I would love it if L2 was always the glide button. That way aim-gliding would still work as always. Whether that meant that Channel and Block would switch buttons, or that Channeling would now glide as well...I don't have a strong preference. But in any case, those are just one player's thoughts. I live in hope that your UX team can find a solution that addresses this!
