The man was much more amicable than he had expected. Perhaps Drei should make an effort to help him after all.

"Nope, fortunately." Drei answered. "Say, this keycard you mentioned. Where do you think I can find one?"

The man sighs, looking even more depressed.  "The mad doctor had only one.  He took it with him when he left with the relic."  A slight spark of hope flashed through his eyes and his chin suddenly lifted.  "The comm relay.  It should be near the bridge, and it could send out a boosted distress call.  Just, don't die on your way up there.  And hope it's still there."  A soft pounding emits from the tenno's cell as he rocks his head into the glass.  His eyes are fixated on a glowing button on the wall.  The words above the button are covered with blood.

Lucy attempted to make her way through the hallway without making any sound, going so slowly that she wasn't sure she was even moving at times.  Until she knew what was making the noise, it was better to not make any herself.

The screeching sound is followed by an inhuman scream and a loud bang.  The footsteps fade into silence as Lucy inches her way into through the hall, the light fading away ever so slowly, until the only source of light was from the ends of the hall.  even the hum of the ship's engines faded away, leaving only her breath, and a slight crunch of broken glass and a soft scraping sound, like something dragging itself along the ground behind her.

"Right. I'll uh, I'll be back then." Drei replied. Leaving the man, he stepped towards the glowing button to inspect the bloodied writing. Hopefully it was going to be something remotely informative instead of a call for help or worse - some rude words.

The only legible letters spell out holo.  There is a system of projectors attached to the button, all of which seem intact.  The ship's engines fall silent, and the temperature begins to slowly drop.  The tenno begins to mutter something in an unintelligible language, still rocking in the fetal position.

Her mind was probably playing tricks on her, but once again it was better to be safe than sorry, so Lucy picked up her pace a little to reach the lit end of the corridor.

The scraping sound grows louder, and closer.  Before she could reach the light, the scraping is joined by a gurgling cough, and then a retching noise as the source of the sound vomits onto her, soaking her in putrid bile.  From the lit end of the hallway drops another crawler, this one with a mouth like protrusion.  It seems to study Lucy before advancing to her, the glass shards cutting into its belly, causing remnants of its last meal to ooze out in a trail behind it.  This crawler seemed to move faster than a normal one, as if it has been enhanced by something, or someone.

Ohhkay, it was time to move.  Lucy instinctively kicked at the crawler, trying to kick it away from the light, before scrambling for the door.

The crawler slides along in its own stomach contents, the last of them spraying out with the kick. It rears up and spits out a barb, embedding it into Lucy's left leg. The bile from the nauseas crawler seeps into the wound, and more infest can be heard screeching down the halls. A soft gunshot echoes through the hall, further down the ship. The door to the next room is visible, and it is light.

Not now, she thought desperately.  Yanking the barb out of her leg, she stifled a cry of pain and sprinted for the door, not caring about the glass.

Apologies for the late reply, I've been real busy as of late.

Seems like the power had failed again, taking the central heating with it. And if it was for good this time, Drei had better find a way to that communication relay and quickly. That was, if there were any backup power sources or power cells available.

The child was unsettling. Small as it was, Drei had to admit to being slightly afraid of approaching it. Well, perhaps wary was a better word, for his ego at least. Stepping closer to the child, Drei lowered himself into a half-crouch(to lower his stature to appear less imposing to the child and not to store up muscle power in his lower legs so he could spring back at a moment's notice) and called to him through the glass.

"Hey kiddo?"

The tenno shook his head back and forth, the void in his eyes glowing more violently with each passing moment, as if they were on fire. "No hope. No end. No peace.  He left. He found him. He took him. Its over."  Soft flashes of light occur around the tenno, almost like his mind was leaking out. The lizard man spoke up, "Hey bud, I woulnt be so close. He might explode, ya know.  It looks like he could."

Through the door was a panel, partialy burned, and a lobby area, filled with cafes and sandwich bars. The crawlers continued to follow, the libber now slowed by its injury, the nauseous one still quick. Another gunshot echoes through, louder now, and more screeches follow. The room begins to cool, and the lights flicker once, but remain on.

Drei was inclined to agree with the man. He had a point, definitely. And the child was certainly no help in his current state.

Stepping away from the child, he paced around the room, looking for any signs that pointed to the bridge. Even if there was a convenient pointer in the right direction, he'd have to hope to even have access to the comms relay, and that it would still be functioning in the ship's low power state. Well, he'd make do.

It seems the only way out is through the lift. The tenno child screams, the images flash to life, showing a tall, slim man in a coat standing in front of a large, skelatal like creature, towering in a Y shape. The soft glow of the images feels harmful, dangerous, as if the child feared them. The towering creature shuddered, then moved backwards, giving a glimpse of another shape, a wire. The creature bore distinct similarities to the ancient sentients, but was soon shut off by a slumping sound as the tenno collapsed onto the floor, blood flowing from his eyes and nose.

Guess I should make a note. Due to Drei being a generic colonist civilian, he knows little about the Tenno, their history with the Sentients and even less to identify them when confronted with them.

Just what he needed. Drei contemplated just continuing on his merry way on the jolly elevator ride up for his one chance of survival. It sure made a lot more sense than dillydallying and staying behind with lizardbro to assist a creepy, unresponsive and certainly very unhelpful child whom saving(if he could even somehow manage it with his limited first-aid knowledge and current inventory of medical supplies) likely would not result in much good. Surely the choice was obvious. Power was down and the clock was ticking until the air recycling systems and central heating completely failed.

Shaking his head, Drei rushed to the child's side and tried to evaluate his condition, patting his body down for any sort of material vaguely resembling gauze.

Looking around her, Lucy picked up the first thing she saw that could serve as a weapon.  After scrambling to put some obstacles between herself and the crawlers, she took a deep breath and turned back to face them.

the only material on the child's frame is the leather/rubber suit that he is wearing.  He lays perfectly still, his breath ragged and quick, as is most who are undergoing hyperventilation.  the thumping resumes as the lizardman bangs his head against the glass, repeatedly crying out in either pain or anger.  Faint screeches can be heard, coming from the vents above.  The screeches are joined by a soft yet heavy footfall of something rapidly moving through the vents.

The most appealing weapon would be the bread knives from the cafe.  the crawlers hustled over the bulkhead, with the lobber getting caught by the tear in his belly.  The nausea crawler grew closer quickly, its stomach gurgling again.it climbed over a couch, dropping onto a table before rolling to the ground.  It pushed itself up, its mouth rearing open as it prepared to vomit once more.

For once Lucy was glad that her father had forced her to take knife-throwing classes in her youth.  At the time it had seemed ridiculous - why would a business family such as hers have any need for self-defense lessons when they have the security staff for protection?  Right now, though, it was comforting knowing that she had some means of defending herself.

Her first knife was aimed directly for the mouth of the noxious crawler as she hastily grabbed as many knives as she could and slid them through the belt that held her tattered pencil skirt firmly at her waist, keeping two in her hands.

Just what he needed. Another freak to deal with - though in lizardbro's case he was quite the freak to begin with. So perhaps just a freak freaking out.

"What. What is it?" Drei half-yelled to lizardbro, unable to hide his irritation. But he was also quite sure that he wouldn't be getting a response from him now.

Drei knew enough that hyperventilation was a typical response to shock, stress and fear. But he couldn't guess what it was that triggered this reaction in him. Then again, he was a child, gods know how he himself would deal with this had he been about six years younger. And being imprisoned here? He had probably seen some stuff, stuff that Drei hoped he wouldn't have to see. But was this a spontaneous reaction? It's not like there was anything else in the ro-

In between lizardbro's cries, he finally heard it. The vents overheard were anything but empty right now. Snatching up his meat hook(fumbling intensely as he did so, Drei backed away from the child and attempted to track the footfalls. If only he could just shut up...

The knife found its mark, sticking through the crawler's jaw and causing it to stop abruptly, its bile falling short.  The blend of blood and bile creates an overpowering stench, and the crawler shrieks in pain and scrambles backwards.  The lobber crawler jumps onto the couch, its chest inflating as it prepares to spit another barb, and a sharp hissing sound follows it as the barb sails out.  At the same time, a crash of glass come from the cafe.

An infested runner falls from the vents, landing behind Drei with a loud crack.  Judging by it's partially removed head, it was dead.  The thing that follows it however, is very much alive.  The dark humanoid shape falls from the same vent, its trajectory angled to hit the wall.  It looks down at the tenno, and then drops, an arm spike sliding out before it lands on the child, driving the spike through the child's heart.  it picks up the tenno, and without a moments hesitation, rips him in half, his innards flying in a semicircle in front of the beast.  It stands, facing the cell, breathing slow, long breaths.  A guttural growl emits from its vocal cords, and the arm spikes retract.  It makes a sniffing noise, and the lizard man has fallen silent, his hand poised in a punch, ready to strike but hesitant.

It was time to leave.  Ducking down, Lucy let the barb fly over her before sending a knife in the other crawler's direction.

Without waiting to see if she hit it, Lucy ran toward the cafe.

The sheer shock at what had just transpired had his mind in a hazy blur. But when his focus was settled, he found himself poised to strike with the hook high above his head. What had initially been fear gave way to some sort of outrage at the fate of the child that he had tried to help and failed. With a furious growl, Drei took a daring step forward and brought the polycarbonate shaft down upon the back of the monster, guiding the hook into its collar.
