How is crit calculated on shotguns?

Title- we know that unless you're hitting 100% on status, it's useless as the status gets divided up between each pellet, but is this the case for crit as well- or the displayed crit for each pellet as opposed to all of them as a whole?

Its per pellet, so if u have 50% crit, 50% of ur pellets will crit

So if you have 6 pellets only 3 will crit? Or does every single pellet have 50% chance of critting?

each pellet has a chance of critting, however its most likely in ur example that 3 will crit

the more pellets a shot gun has the more consistant is the crit - non crit ratio
