Jump isn't working

The problem originally started when I tried to set w to my jump key and space bar to my forward key. After I changed the settings and saved them the w key was still forward and space bar didn't make me jump. From there I tried to set it to default, verify files, optimize files, manually set key back, nothing worked. i tried setting jump to all the keys and  none of them worked after reinstalling the game it still doesn't let me use any key for jump. Although it doesn't work for keyboard when I try to use a controller it lets me jump. I don't know if there is anything else i can try so i am posting it here.
