New Game Mode

Stronghold: This game type would be more along the lines of a 'tenno' home base. Each player, or each Guild, would have a home base, their choice of what planet as this would dictate what type of enemies would raid it primarily.

Setup: Setup works not unlike the Tenno Dojo. Only difference is players set up defenses, walls, turrets, guards/phantoms etc. As well as choosing WHICH planet/moon to base your Stronghold off of.

How it Works: Once done the base becomes 'in play' being assaulted once a day/twice a day, for a few hours. Allowing allied tenno to engage the enemy and defend the Stronghold. What the tenno are attempting to protect is a database with all the locations of Tenno Ships/Safe havens etc. The grineer/Corpus are attempting to take the data to kill the tenno. The Infected are going after the Stronghold power-core, trying to destroy it etc. The map would be similar to a standard defense mission, save for one thing, the only opening would be a long hallway with three to four 'security' walls that open every time the enemy breaches a layer of defense. If all layers are breached the stronghold enters an 'Alert' status, where Tenno can send out a 'call' for assitance (this would be under its own tab, perhaps labeled 'Stronghold Alerts') from their fellow guild mates, this is based off the solo concept, or to their alliance, based off guild. once a raid has been successfully defeated, a series of rewards would be issued to all players involved based on their contribution to the event.

Reward contribution: now i know what yoru thinking 'i'm in a big guild, what if all the high levels wipe them out' simple, this isn't a simple 'kill x number of enemies' style mission. No, reward is based on how much time, and how little damage is done. The damage indicater goes down the more damage is done to teh base, loosing security doors, having turrets destroyed etc etc. Choosing to repair mission equipment, barricades, turrets (with your own credit/resources) allows you to 'refil' half of what was lost for the broken item. For example, if a barricade was lost, lets say you loose 10 points, if a tenno repairs it, no matter how many times its broken the rest of the mission, you gain back 5 points. You can only gain those 5 points once however, (to prevent point stacking by letting an enemy continually break something) however you only loose points once as well, any second or third or etc etc, breaks will not count against points. Players can choose minimum/bare protection, however this also means loosing a Security gate will hurt a LOT more towards total rewards. Lastly, time. Each tenno will ensure their own amount of time in defending the base. To prevent 'lingering' a preset amount of time will be set for each mission. In this way it will act as a sort of 'survival' mission. this will allow players to 'earn' rewards by simply playing out the mission. However, it IS possible to finish a mission early.

Mission Completion: Carrier ships will constantly swing in and out of the mission. they will have high armor minimum weaponry and will drop off and leave quite quickly. As the enemy gets closer to the gate, there will be more Carrier ships. The only way to finish the mission, is one of two ways. Either one, survive until the timer runs out, slaughtering all enemies within sight, or two, destroy the current carrier ships until they have none left. If you manage to destroy the carrier ships (half, gains some points, all gains the most) you will gain bonus points towards you total reward points.

Resources: Now, i know what your all thinking 'i dont' want another money/resource sink! this will just be annoying' your right, partially. To being with, once the base has been chosen, and 'set' it will begin the first ever 'Stronghold Alert' a simple skirmish with a preset count of enemies (pre-set rewards one time only) Once completing the skirmish Lotus will inform you the enemy dropped something. A strange type of technology she doesn't recognize. Upon closer inspection to the downed piece of equipment (walk up and inspect it) Lotus would inform the tenno its a fabricator (think like way high tech 3d printer) and so long as the tenno are able to give it material, they can create anything they need to defend their base. However the more advanced an item is, the more material the machine can use. Luckily for you, you just killed a bunch of people in armor with weapons. Lotus informs you she can use the armor and weapons, even ammunition, of the dead to create a 'Stronghold Resource' to allow the Tenno to make, or repair, the base structures and defenses. This resource can only be gained by doing the stronghold missions. Each tenno can hold up to 1000 (total) of the resource at any time. They can choose to deposit the resource into the Stronghold for public use between Alerts. The deposit section would be at one of the command consoles around the Power core at the back of the base. As you'd need an inordinate amount of resources to make proper protection/weaponry/defenses, i feel this would be the most logical, and simplest, way to do this. Play more, better defenses, play less, less defenses. Seems far more fair to smaller guilds so that everyone could play it equally.

PVP: Stronghold PvP: you thought i left out the phantoms right? Wrong! Pvp is defiantly going to have to be a part of this ^_^. Using scan data, not at all stolen from a certain sanct...ahem, safe place, the Tenno lead an assault of enemies to raid fellow Tenno strong holds. (This can be done simply by choosing and clicking 'assault' or via tenno going in person to join in the battle) The goal would be the same as normal, break through the barriers, hack the terminals. If the tenno use Infested, they must destroy the core.

Ok, rough and probably a tad confusing at some times, but there it is. I'd LOVE a simple protect/survive style mission where WE control the area instead of the enemy. would make for a great new game mode in my opinion, plus it would give players, or guilds, a new reason to invest in the guild.
