"Short freezes" when a new player joins a mission

Over the last couple of weeks i noticed something odd. 
When a new player joins an already running session (mostly defense missions, when a lot is going on) my game (not always, but often) freezes for upto 2-3 secs.

I guess the first time i observed this kind of behaviour, must have been somewhere around Update 22.16.x.

Never had something like that before.

So, is it just me, or is there anyone else with similar experiences?
 

(just to mention it: fast internet-connection, decent PC)

Started happening to me as well. Not the greatest of times. I guess they might be having issues with servers or a random update messed up the matchmaking services.
