Allowing life support to go over 100%

This is something I have been pondering in and out, given how common it is for newer players (or just anyone who doesn't know any better) to activate life support when it is not necessary, and also when you pick up life support off enemies and a big chunk of it goes to waste. And then squad chat starting to bicker about "Noob, dont activate the blah blah".

Would it be possible or desirable to allow life support to go over 100% temporarily when you either activate it and it would bring it over 100% or pick a canister that would also bring it over 100% like when vacuum yanks them to you at 99%?

If over 100%, it could drain twice as fast until it reached 100% again. And it would not allow you to pick canisters or activate life support until at least 99%. At least it would mitigate the waste a bit.

It works like that in order for it to not be sandbox-y all the way through. Meaning knowing the right time when to use something, when to pick it up etc, it's part of the game mode. If it would work like you said, it would be rather trivial to go above 200% just from picking up the mountains of LS the enemies drop.

And don't worry too much about noobs, they always learn, no one is a noob forever (unless they quit, which is also a non-problem). But they can learn because the game doesn't hold their hand like that.

Also, if it worked the way you described it, I GUARANTEE it that the noobs will use absolutely all the LS that exists without remorse, since "it adds more". And that would set you back a lot more in the grand scheme of things, since it will drain twice as fast.

Well, it would hardly ever go above 140%, with that limitation I proposed is added where you cannot collect any more until it goes back to 99%. Also it would be kind of wasteful since it would drain twice as fast while it over 100%. But at least we'd be getting SOME time extra, as opposed to NO time extra.

Well, in theory you could get it higher, if your whole team coordinated to activate 4 capsules at the same time! But that in itself would be kind of fun to make happen.
