Couldn't upload on exiting POE... But my baits are gone?

Went fishing some night fishies on the Plain. When I tried to leave the plains, I got the dreaded message "cannot connect to network" (or something like that, you all know the message). The problem is, the baits I've used during the mission are gone. So why are the fishes gone too? Items used during a mission should not be updated until the end of mission, same as the items gotten during the mission are not added to inventory until exit. It's unfair to lose items used with no return at all. And since the exit problem will be around for a long time, might as well make sure players don't actually LOSE items because of it. It's already frustrating enough as it is!
