  1. I'm still trying to figure out why DE thought it was a bad thing for players to only play with the weapons that appealed to them....

I've Forma'd my Vaykor Hek three times so it would be even more badass ~ what was 'wrong' with using it a lot, that DE felt the need to address that situation? What's the point to Riven mods in the first place?

Or are they just sparklies to chase? :inlove:

I think you mean it will be grind-heavy. Harrow will probably be a grind, I doubt he'll be given away during the quest, the primes will be a pain to farm, cause they always get new relics when they're unvaulted, and the Fomorian will be a grind due to that unique resource for the key... Yeah, can't wait... Sigh...

warframe is all about grind, if you dislike it, leave.

I agree that WF is about grind, but FTPs are virtually always that way. In fairness, DE exists to make money, not happy gamers. So they have to have a way to earn a buck, just like (most of) the rest of us. It's not fair to ding them for being what they have to be-a profitable business.

And all of the above being true, "Ya pays wit ya money, or ya pays wit ya time."

And since we all knew that (or should have known it) going in, IMHO there's no excuse to complain about it, or to be rude to folk who wish it didn't have to be this way.

"If you're so upset about having to adapt your play style for one match (because Limbo players aren't that abundant because of people crying like you) then maybe you should try a different game or a different approach."

"You're so quick to judge but honestly you probably did that group a favor because you sound like someone people wouldn't want to play with not the other way around."

    "I feel sorry for you..."

Vonsora52, thanks for sharing your opinions, and yes, we do disagree. Respectfully, quotes like the ones I excerpted above from your post make it difficult to believe you when you say "I'm not trying to sound harsh..." We apparently don't share the same opinion of "harsh".

To your points; I do know the description of the character - as I said, I think it was a bad decision on DE's part. But I was here when Loki was introduced, and once the game left CB and the general public got their hands on his Switch Teleport ability, much griefing was done. That ability remains to this day, so I get that DE is almost certainly not going to change Limbo's ability set. I'm complaining so they know that folk are out here not liking their decision, and that in the future they might refrain from giving future new 'frames abilities that can be used in such a way as to pit players against each other, instead of cooperating - this IS a co-op game, after all.

"Limbo has had too many reworks."?. Dude, please.

You also assume that I came to this decision without playing with a bunch of Limbos, and that assumption is simply wrong. Maybe I've just been RNGed into too many PUGs with bad Limbo players, but my decision is based on many experiences playing with folk wearing Limbo. What else should I be basing my decisions on, if not my own experience? And yes, any given player might change my opinion about Limbos. But I'll share a mildly humorous quote I once heard about "might": "Yup, that might happen. It isn't going to happen.....but it might."

Finally, if I ran around using Switch Teleport to interfere with other players' gameplay, I would absolutely expect to take crap over it. That's very similar to what's happening ATM with a lot of Limbos. And as far as having fun, I think the game was a lot more fun when players cooperated, and I don't see that very much any more. Holding elevators for teammates, sometimes not reviving fallen teammates, not helping with Syndicate attacks or with Juggie, there are lots of examples of players who are playing a pretty selfish version of "co-op" right now, and I think the game is diminished because of this attitude. It's not something I can (or should) have any control over - the fairest response I can think of is to politely leave the group, and provide an explanation of why I'm taking 20-30% of the team's damage strength with me. After that, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

    No need to be cruel.

Okay, that was fair. DYSEQTA, I apologize for my snarkiness.

In case it isn't immediately obvious, my personal experience with the Riven mod I received was not positive, and my negative opinion about them is largely based on that.

Just curious where either of you read this. I have heard that Baro Ki Tears-of-the-Tenno will indeed have his entire digital catalog, as it were, for sale. But I haven't heard positively that he won't be selling anything else exclusive.

I'm curious because I'm blessed with an indulgent wife, and (used to have) lots of Relics, which I turned into Ducats and used to buy most everything I want from Our Boy Baro. To think that he has absolutely nothing that's actually new this time would bring much sadness to my eyes. So have we actually heard for sure that he won't have anything new?

  7. I think the tileset may at some early point been designed to be accessed from either direction by players, and so had "treasure" rooms at either end. But the rooms at the two ends  seem to be of different sizes, and I've never seen the one I think you're referring to actually open, although loot radar often shows loot back there (and I've encountered that room a LOT of times).

I just consider it a glitch in the Matrix, a remnant of old code left over from the fifth iteration.

I've heard there is a hard limit on the number of weapons you can actually have, last I heard it was about 70-ish.

Why would I keep every single worthless weapon that I've built and don't intend to use, and keep a tremendous inventory of junk to sort through every time I want to equip a weapon?

First, you heard wrong. I currently own well over three hundred different weapons - essentially every one I've ever earned, been given, or purchased.

Second, put simply, I still own them all because I have an indulgent wife, a job, and because I can. I don't need to get rid of any of them, so why should I?

By that logic, why include any quality of life additions to the game at ALL? Things like having multiple weapon loadouts and bugfixes don't put any money directly into DE's pocket, do they? But the reason they're there is because it makes the game better for the players. What I'm saying is, it is possible for a company to do something for the benefit of the players.

Absolutely true, and those are the kinds of games (and game developers) many of us search for (although bugfixes are kind of de rigueur for developers; can't really give them much credit for doing them).

Sadly, while DE was very much in that camp early on in the development cycle, in the past year or two they've become more focused on income generation. This may be related to the buy-in by Sumpo Foods. They still do many cool things for the players, but it has lessened somewhat. Currently they seem focused on creating cosmetics, and not nearly so much on players' needs. As an L22, I need new weapons and warframes in order to progress, and while weapons used to drop at the rate of two or three a week in the first couple of years, they're down to a few a month right now. Warframes still drop, but their frequency has also fallen. So while DE is I'm sure open to doing nice things just for the players, they aren't as focused on the creation of new content, or doing nice things for the players just because they can, as they were back in the early days - which may be an entirely normal part of the game development cycle.

  10. But it's important to remember, one of the very important aspects about Plat: if you acquire Plat, at some point somebody somewhere paid DE real money for it. Didn't have to be you, as long as somebody paid for, because when this happens, DE benefits, and Warframe the Game makes money. That's why simply explaining how a suggestion benefits you or me isn't enough. DE luvs us, but they have to make money or it all goes away. If a given idea benefits DE/sells more Plat, then it's much more likely DE will be interested. If it doesn't, or if it discourages the sale of Plat, then I'm guessing they'll be much less interested in it.

  11. Don't disagree with the OP. But heavens to Murgatroyd I wish players had to pass some kind of test of cooperation skills in order to wear a Limbo. Something not unlike a MR test might be suitable.

I know that sounds harsh, and maybe it is. But for me the bottom line is, this is a co-op game, and in addition to everything OP said, if misplayed or just played selfishly, Limbo also has the ability to completely derail co-op play. That makes him a real double-edged sword for the rest of us. That said, honesty requires me to admit to a bit of selfishness of my own here - I'm not interested in being part of some Limbo player's learning curve. I avoid playing with them for the time being.

(As always, IMHO, reasonable minds can differ.)
