The only other thing I could think of would be some external software - I'm seeing reports of stuff like ASUS Armory Crate causing problems (https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/17kd2un/steam_games_taking_forever_to_launch/), and other OEM bloatware can cause similar issues. It's "supposed" to enhance gaming experiences but, in my experience it's often very rushed development and extremely buggy / untested - MSI dragon center straight up blue screens my entire system when I used it, as an example. I'd remove or disable these (if present) and test it again to see if that helps - you can always reinstall them later too, but seeing if they're causing the problems should isolate them at least.

I uninstalled Armory Crate but no change. I already had it before switching without any problem so i don't think this is the cause. The OP in the reddit post say that all his games were impacted by this problem but in my case, it's only Warframe. All my other games are booting normally.

I am trying to verify/optimize again in the launcher to see if it can do anything but (nope) i may ends up having to uninstall/reinstall the game to try clean things up. Not sure if it will work tho… *sigh*

EDIT: uninstall/reinstall the game didn't solved the issue T.T

  2. My Defrag.log is from 2024/01/11 so right when i switched to DirectX 12 (and i started this topic the day after) but yes, it was not recreated since then.

My PC Laptop (ROG Strix G713IC) only have one SSD named "INTEL SSDPEKNUS512GZ". It has 453Go total capacity, with 342Go used and 110Go left.

My EE.log say "12.166 Sys [Info]: Startup time: 12.2s" so not far from yours.

And about the spoilery part, no: it's been month i haven't moved from the default starting point, even before switching DirectX. I prefer space.

Thank you for taking your time to answer my questions and trying to find a solution 😘

  3. I noticed something else in Defrag.log:

    7.576 Sys [Info]: Defragmenting /Cache.Windows/B.Misc.cache
    130.013 Sys [Info]: >>> Wrote 5,261,885,323 bytes at 42,976,267 B/s

5,261,885,323 / 42,976,267 ≈ 122, or 2 min 02, which is once again rougly the time i am waiting. Is the time taken for defragmenting this thing the root of the problem? Or just the consequence?

  4. I took a look at the EE.log but it's a mess of data, i don't know what to look at :S

There's a lot of executing timer for most of the lines, but it's always in milli or micro seconds, nothing that's seems really slow.

The only thing i find suspicious is this:

11.709 Net [Info]: Created virtual connection for: REDACTED [handle: 0]
    11.709 Net [Info]: NetDriver::SetConnectionTimeout setting connection 0 timeout to 20 * 1
11.709 Sys [Info]: Contact received; sending challenge to Joueur. Setting connection timeout to 20
129.566 Sys [Info]: Resloader REDACTED (16 root types) starting
    129.571 Sys [Info]: Loaded 0/9601 resources at 0 ms/frame
    129.575 Net [Info]: NetDriver::SetConnectionTimeout setting connection 0 timeout to 7.5 * 1

(idk what i redacted, but the 1st one look like an ip adress so just in case)

I have absolutely no idea what does that mean, but it's weird how this specific value jump from "11.709 Sys" to "129.566 Sys" while it increases more or less linearly everywhere else in the document. But no idea if it's normal or not.

EDIT: I realized that 129 seconds (or 2 min 09) is exactly the time i am waiting between pressing Play on the launcher and the keyart finally appearing. So my problem is clearly related to what is happening at this moment.

  5. Ok, i understand. Thank for the explanation ^^

    Il y a 7 heures, Naroxas44 a dit :

It would be in the "performance" tab, under one of your disks (whichever one you have Warframe installed on). I'm specifically referring to the "active time" stat, like here:

So i check the active time during the booting and during gameplay (a ~20 min solo run in Circulus) with nothing else opened:

    • During booting, it stay very low, around 0-1%, with spikes between ~30% and ~60%.
    • During gameplay, it also stay around 0-7% most of the time with very rare spikes between ~10% and ~50%.

    What do you think?

  6. Le 01/03/2024 à 05:29, Naroxas44 a dit :

Load / boot times shouldn't be significantly impacted by the D3D driver, those would solely be related to disk read speeds. I'd open task manager while it's loading and see what your disk usage is like - if it's stuck at 100% active usage the whole time, it's probably some bottleneck related to that.

I'm not familiar with Task Manager stats and metrics, but at the very least i can assure that nothing have ever reached 100%, be it during the booting of the game or during gameplay. I can even run a buttload of tabs on Firefox and even run Youtube on my second monitor at the same time, no problem.

  7. Oh btw: it's been over a year and a half that Khora Prima Helmet textures are broken when Tennogen skin are equipped:

And over 2 years that default and Tennogen Khora skin have huge anchor points issues:

    My usual rant:

Bugged or straight up poorly placed anchor points are reccuring problems that are bond to keep occuring through the years. And even when the anchor point are fine, there are plenty of armor pieces that do not fit on some frames because of the geometry of the models.

That why i'll repeat YET AGAIN that a really needed feature would be to let players adjust the x/y/z position and rotation of armor pieces and syandana, the same way we are able to with melee weapons. In the end, it would be more customisation for the players and less troubleshoot for the devs.

  8. The one who added Lifted to the very first hit of Defiled Snapdragon's Neutral combo (for Blade & Whip) is a freaking nutcase:

    • It make the Neutral combo unplayable: the target fly away from the get-go so the next hits of the combo can't land and you can't go after the target either because this is a not moving combo, completely wasting the forced slash procs from this combo.
    • It also make the whole melee stance devoid of any immobile combo since the Block "combo" is actually not one: it's just a single long-winded hit that do Ragdoll. Totally useless.
    • The Forward Block combo is also a pain to deal with. It's the only other one which also have forced slash procs, but the leap on the second hit can easily overshoot the target.
    • Because of this, the Forward combo is the only usable one in this stance, realistically speaking. It has good damages with a lot of multi-hits, but don't have any effect. Just a bland et generic swing-swing…
    • And the cherry on top is the Heavy attack which is completely useless because the whip attack has Ragdoll AND Lifted, launching the target miles behind us. It's Valkyr's zipline all over again! And with the recently added Tennokai, this monstruosity is even more shocking.

This stance was already a bit borderline before but when they added Lifted, it became insultingly bad. I love Blade & Whip weapons but this stance is a sin.

The bare minimum i could expect from a QoL change for Lifted would be to simply lock the target in place. They did it in 2020 for Titania's Lantern, so why not for Lifted!?

  9. Faster to point out the few frame i'm using instead ^^:

    SIAJuIe.jpg

Valkyr is my very first frame and the very reason i started playing this game 9 years ago. My tutorial frame was Volt but went straight to the Market to buy Valkyr as soon as i had the chance, and then i played with her for years. I tried other frames here and there but i always went back to Valkyr…

… Until Khora came out. Only her was capable of dethroning Valkyr for me. Once again, i stuck to her for almost everything. I have so much fun with her that she quickly became my most used frame.

Then it was Sevagoth's turn to cross my path and even if Khora remains on his heels, Sevagoth became my favorite frame. I use him for everything (minus spy missions) and i'm having a blast everytime 🥰

Protea is a frame i started to use recently and i find her really fun to play. She is one of the few that managed to stick for me. And in her wake, i was enticed to dust off my Vauban and refresh his build. I like the change in play style compared to the rest.

Ivara is my first and favorite stealth frame. I'm using her exclusively for spy missions. I like to do them solo since i can take my time and roaming around leisurely. I also used her for Archon Hunts for a while but this spot also ended up being taken over by Sevagoth :P

The others are just for change of pace from time to time.

  10. Bumping up this because with the release of the Lunar New Year cosmetics, we are ending up with a very nice new Ephemera which once again use all Attachment colors to customize the floating dragon (the one fully materialized when not moving), what can easily conflict with the colors you want for your armor pieces AND your Signa.

For example, if you want your Krios Signa with golden leaves, you have no other choice but to end up a flying french frie around you 🍟

I really hope DE will adress this during the devstream. It's really disheartening to not be able to freely customize our stuff because of that…

  11. Any progress about all the bugs with Sevagoth Deluxe? It's quite disheartening not being able to customize it properly because all the energy/emissive colors mismatch, Reap's shadow having his head shoved inside his body and the whole warframe being a roaming flashbang inside the new tileset… -_-

    Completely superfluous, but enjoyable.

    "Enjoyable" being the keyword.

In a game where customizing one stuff is held in such a high regard by 99% of the community even if it's totally inconsequential for the gameplay, such features should be taken more seriously. For example, absolutely nobody expected FFXIV to add adventurer plates to their game after so many years, and it wasn't meant to change anything in the daily life of the players. But they did it anyway, and players are LOVING it (maybe a bit too much sometime xD). Fashionframe being so important for players show that there always is a demand for more customization options. And our profile page is also part of it.

Personally, i would LOVE being able to do what you are suggesting: instead of having our Warframe/Operator/Drifter standing straight as a stick, it would be so fun to be able to use Captura features to give them a nice and dynamic poses, being able to choose the background to create complete scenes as our own moving diorama (like our old login screens back in the day), as well as featuring the weapons we TRULY like the most (instead of this buggy af "most used" section).

I'm sure such a feature would be really popular.

EDIT: And the neat thing is that everything is already in-game! The Captura system, with camera pathings, speed, timing and whatnot. Add a save file to record the diorama (or multiple ones with a loadout system) and play it when opening the profile menu. Grofit.

  13. Alright, let's take a look to these Prime Access packs.

First, the Weapons pack. I wonder what their new primed look is like and what are their new stats:

    syltRo9l.jpg

Huuuuh… ok? No Acceltra, only the Akarius Prime are on screen, but i can't take a good look of them because of the full length frame. It gets closer if you wait a little, but the moving camera is annoying. And on a more concrete side of things, nothing about the weapons stats. No icon on the right side to use as shortcut to the weapons pages or at least a mouseover option to see the informations.

Ok, but what about the Gauss & Weapons pack:

    kIFfjarl.jpg

Really? Same screen as before with only the Akarius Prime and Gauss Prime shown, and once again no stats at all. Like the weapons, i can't see anywhere what are the stats increases for Gauss Prime. Yes, he look hella cool, but i need more than that if i want to do a thoughtful purchase.

And finally, the Accessories pack (the one i'm most interested since i can farm the rest). Surely the new prime cosmetics look cool as f-

    14pepKFl.jpg

Seriously DE? The same screen again? For a pack that only contains cosmetics, absolutely NOTHING in it is actually shown on screen! I have absolutely NO IDEA what i am buying looks like! The Gauss Prime 3D model is right here, DE: why couldn't you take a little bit of time to put the armors pieces and syandana on him!?

Seriously, can i have a proper look at what i am buying!!?

    VFdW1hkl.png

    btlmWNyl.jpg

And yeah, of course i know: i can link the items in the chat so i can look at them individually. But on one hand it's TERRIBLY ANNOYING to write everything down when it could already be accessible with one click like it's already done for numerous other packs. And on the other hand, haven't you noticed anything in my previous screens?

Yeah: i play Warframe in baguette. Even though i can read/write/listen English easily, i find it more comfortable to put the game in my native language. But once you throw translation and nomenclatures into the mix, it became a whole new can of worms.

It's always a guessing game when it come to link items in chat in French. For example, shoulder armors: we have "Épaulières" as the most common epithet, but sometime for older sets we have "Épaulière" with no "-s" accompanied with "left" or "right" at the end. Some other are defined as "Brassards", because why not? "Ruban" is used for the Conquera shoulder armor, and "Ailette" is used for the Naberus shoulder armor, but only the normal one: the prisma one is simply named "Naberus Prisma" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know the same thing happens in English, but it's much less problematic because of the way the words are ordered: "shoulder armor" is always written after the name of the piece, so you simply have to begin to write it to find it immediately. For example, if you are looking for "Meridian Arm Spurs", you just have to start writing "Meri-" and you already found it. But since the object link system is not smart, you can't simply write "Méridien" and scroll through matching items. You have to write "Brassards du Méri-" to find the same piece in French.

But i'll not rabble any more about translation. I chose to play Warframe this way, i have to deal with it. I just wanted to give some context…

But the crux of this thread is to highlight how all the in-game market presentation screens for Prime Access are sloppily done, especially when the obvious solution already exist and is already used. Like this:

    tEUIBByl.jpg

    nrb12I5l.jpg

The whole purpose of the right column is to show packs content. Everything is here, and you can preview everything, you can mouseover each element, you can tab the stats windows, and you can click directly on each of them. Why packs purchasable with plat have everything nicely listed down, when those purchasable with real money only have a crude bullet points in the description?

Because yes: it's not only a Prime Access pack problem. All real money packs are suffering from this lack of options. But unlike the laziness of Prime Access packs, Supporter Packs are at least trying (with more or less success) to show the things it contain. It remains a little pathetic to see, but at least there is an effort:

    ToH91Gjl.jpg

Thank god there is content creators on youtube that are showcasing everything properly. But seriously DE, you really need to standardize your market UIs…

  14. It could be useful if the special screens for each prime access packs could showcase the content instead of the same default Gauss Prime model holding the Akarius Prime, don't you think?

The weapon pack don't show the Acceltra Prime, and the accessories pack don't show anything at all (no armor, no syandana, no alt helmet, no floof). I have no idea what all these things look like, and we can't link them in chat for the moment.

The new way of presenting your prime access in the store that you introduced not long ago looks cool and all, but it's extremely impractical.

EDIT: Thank god there is content creators showcasing everything on youtube. But it’s a shame that it’s not possible directly in-game.

  15. The melee incarnon weapon are using the combo meter to change forms. Build it up by hitting things to reach the requiered multiplier (usually 6x) and then use an heavy attack to trigger the Incarnon form.

The Tennokai is not necessary. However, the benefit is that a Tennokai attack (which are speeded up Heavy attacks) will not consume the combo like a normal Heavy attack would do. Doing it that way is only for the convenience to not have to build up the combo again after activating the Incarnon form.

  16. Alright. I really don't know if it's a bug or if it's me who needs to change something in my PC settings. But since this is a purely technical question, i thought it would be better to come here rather than in Helping Players.

As stated in the title, i switched from  DirectX 11 to DirectX 12 in the launcher. I never really paid attention to it before (because it is written it is in a beta state), but this video convinced me to try it out.

As recommended by the youtuber, i've verified and optimized the Download Cache right after the launcher completed his download. And overall, i followed all the settings he is showing, both in the Nvidia Control Panel and in Warframe.

Since then, i have absolutely no problem whatsoever when the game is running. No bug, no crash, and a steady 60 fps. Btw, i'm really impressed with how fast the game is loading now between missions, orbiter, hub, etc… Really nice stuff.

However, when launching the game (when i click Play on the launcher), the game take way more time to boot compared to when it was running with DirectX 11. The game appear in my taskbar, but the window is invisible and the mouseover only show a greyed window.

    GKUeqcA.png

I can alt+tab and do other things without any problem. It takes a little over 2 minutes (timed) for the keyart of the update (Loid and Excalibur) to finally appear. And as i said, once the game is running, no problem at all.

The question is: is this normal? Is this inherent to DirectX 12 or is this a sign of a problem with my settings?

    My specs:

    • AMD Ryzen 7 4800H with Radeon Graphics 2.90 GHz
    • 16GB RAM
    • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
