  1. I love how many people are making this an issue of "get good", as if there's a mysterious build or special skill that will magically make a frame better.

Let's face it, there are frames in this game that are demonstrably weaker than other frames. Of course, any frame can be made to sound good, but that's only if you look at them as if they existed in a vacuum. You can make Mag's CC sound decent, until you realize that there's a lot other frames that put her CC to shame. Atlas' DPS sounds pretty good, until you look at Mesa, Excal, Equinox, Nova, ect., ect. You can't look at frames in a vacuum, they WILL be compared to other frames. And as much as I wish DE would take a serious look at balancing the frames, I don't think it's something they care about. They're too busy chasing the next shiny object.

But anyways, back on topic. Synergy is not always a bad thing, but DE is horribly inconsistent at it. I think it depends on who's masterminding the kit. Whoever did Nidus nailed it on all aspects, whoever did Octavia went in reverse since Resonator actively neuters Mallet, and the Oberon and Mag reworks were just lazy (Thankfully Oberon got a bit of a buff due to community outrage, but he still has unnecessary restrictions on some abilities).

Because it will, if they force vacuum down my throat. I can tolerate if vacuum becomes a mod available for all pets and sentinels alike. I can accept a 1m increase to base pickup radius. I'm against every frame getting innate vacuum.

And eveytime universal vacuum is brought up it always comes with a concession for people like you who don't like it. Either by it being a mod you take off, or an option you can toggle off.

No one has suggested shoving it down the throats of people who don't want it.

Still wouldn't use it. I never use sentinels because they're absolutely useless, vacuum included. It being universal would change nothing because me and a lot of people learned long ago that vacuum is a bandaid and a crutch, something that you grow out of.

Give or take 85% of the Warframe community disagrees with you.

And if you don't care about it, then why are you bothering to argue against something that won't affect you in the slightest?

Rift Surge functions as a way to gradually feed enemies into the Rift without spamming Cataclysm and Banish repeatedly.  In practice, it spreads similarly to Saryn's Spores and drags nearby enemies on the Material plane into the Rift plane when the surged enemy dies.  So when you kill one, nearby things are Rifted as well.  Additionally, casting Banish on enemies that are affected by Rift Surge will allow you to pull additional enemies in, regardless of the plane you are in compared to them.  So you really don't even need to kill the enemies to utilize Rift Surge if you're smart about it.

Except Rift Surge doesn't work like that. You have to spam Banish and Rift Surge to keep bringing more people in. If killing enemies did bring more people into the rift then Rift Surge would be great.

But Rift Surge, as it is right now, is waaaaaaaay to clunky and costs waaaaaaaay too much energy with the need to spam Banish.

Casting one high range Cataclysm makes clunk Rift Surge just not worth using.

  5. He is sooooo close. All they need to do is remove the unnecessary restrictions on HG and Renewal. No more Pac-Man for HG, it serves no purpose and it's annoying. Remove the per ally cost for Renewal in favor of a higher base drain, then return the heal rate for spectres/shadows/ect to normal.

Done, put a bow on him, ship him out.

  6. While I would normally dance for joy at any Mag buffs, these are paper thin and change nothing. We could already cast while aim gliding, and it doesn't address any of the actual problems with her abilities.

Seriously, it's becoming painfully obvious that whoever makes the decisions at DE doesn't play this game at the same level the players do, if at all. And they sure don't care about player feedback. Mag gets several topics a week begging for buffs, and they give her the ability to do what she already could, awesome.

And as if to add salt to the wound, Oberon's Reckoning has made Polarize irrelevant. It does a better job at stripping armor, it does it quicker, and has added effects (albeit mediocre ones).

Guess I still need to wait a few more years for DE to dig my favorite frame out of the trash.

Oberon does have a role. You just fail to see how good that role can be. He's a jack of all trades and a master of none. In a sea of frames that are a master of something. That may sound like he's useless, but it's quite the opposite actually. His rework allows him to be something we don't normally have. A frame that can support other frames in a variety of ways rather than just a single avenue.

Equinox, Volt, and Rhino are better jack of all trades than Oberon could ever dream of. And this argument that it's okay for Oberon to be mediocre because he does a little bit of everything is absurd.

DE needs to un-clusterf*** his abilities, figure out what they intend each ability to do, and make it do that well.

This one line invalidates your entire post.

As for the rest of you, spend some time with these frames and get to know how to play them. Ash, Mag and Saryn are all powerful. Oberon is still a jack of all trades and thats what he is meant to be. And as for energy issues? Try a different build, i have zero energy issues.

I've spent A LOT of time with Mag. Girl needs help. She's powerful because of one ability, Magnetize. Meanwhile, Polarize doesn't scale worth squat against enemy armor, and is useless against an entire faction. Crush is total garbage. And she also has a tiny energy pool for a caster type frame that needs to spam her abilities.

  9. Ambulas itself is a joke, it's still less of a threat than a Bursa. The boss fight isn't about Ambulas, it's about protecting Abmulas during bombardments and constant mobs rushing in.

I jumped in a PUG group with my Mag. I can tell you this, Mag still has no survivability. 1-2 shots from the dropship and I was down, and I swear it was singling me out.

I see the people complaining as yet another minority. Polymer are as common as Alloy Plate, Ferrite and Nano Spores. It boggles my mind how people do not have those.

Incorrect. Polymer drops in bundles half the size of the other common resources. Add on top of that they're used in crafting energy pizzas, making them very valuable for a common resource.

  11. 2 hours ago, Lucavee said:

I don't like the polymer cost either but that's water under the bridge i guess? Unless they change the loot table for the next razorback event i'm not even going to touch it. With 500 being consumed per 10 Large Energy Restore, and me going through dozens of them on a daily basis, i'm just gonna say "good bye" to the next relay razorback hits.

But, honestly I am very curious with their thought process. I wanna know WHY they pick literally the only common resource that people still actively form group to farm. Everyday in the recruitment chat I always see some people hosting or looking for Polymer farm squad complete with Nekros, Hydroid, etc. Yet they pick the very same resource, 3.5k of them no less, and slap it on the blueprint key for a time limited event.

    WHY?

Their numbers probably showed people had a stockpile, and before researching how many people had a stockpile, they created a resource sink to go after a minority of players and screwed over a majority in process.

To make the cost of the key comparable with the Fomorian Disruptor they should have used Alloy Plates.

And im glad. Its gonna appear in sorties sooner or later and we dont need yet another sponge.

It was a sortie for a short while the day after the event started. Mesa or Nova made it a complete joke, even at sortie level. A couple seconds of Peacemaker, or one AntiMatter Drop, and Ambulas was down. The boss fight became nothing but waiting around for the Ambulas to be retrieved.

Ambulas needs a buff. As of right now it's just another MOA.

  13. DE is trying to gate the content the same way they do with the Formorians, which require the same amount of different resources. The problem is that Polymer Bundles are more rare, and more valuable, than Nano Spores. They chose the wrong resource.

Polymer Bundles are more valuable to me than puncture mods I'll never use and a mastery fodder weapon. I got the Catalyst, could care less after that. Was really excited for Razorback to return, but once I saw the cost of the cipher I was just disappointed.

if you make innate in frames, you have to be willing to pay the price, cut its range down to 6m max

that was the condition that they let it be innate in sentinels, if it was built into frames it'd probably be closer to 4m instead

people wanted the full range back, so it got turned back into a mod. you can't have both the full range and zero cost

Why do people want to nerf vacuum just to make it universal? It's just vacuum, it's a convinience, it doesn't make the missions easier, it would break nothing.

Am I using all my frames equally? Nope. Am I using all my weapons equally? Nope. There is a thing called preference and choice. If you are trying to point out, that Oberon sucks because ..., then you should go away. It is like complaining to a person that their music taste is bad, while constantly whining about it. Also. You can't freeze bread.

Look at my avatar. I love Mag. I take her to a bunch of missions I probably shouldn't. I build and forma weapons just to use with her. But she's not in a good place and needs a second look. There are a lot of frames better than Mag right now. I've made a couple of threads about her. I've even made a reddit post titled "DE must really hate Mag". Just because I like her doesn't mean I'll overlook her problems.

Music is subjective, a frames' usefulness is not.

That's where you are wrong. Scaled damage, Radiation procs?

Smite isn't bad,  but it's not super good either.  It's just kind of there.  It's not a reason to pick Oberon for anything.

The radiation procs don't mean anything. I can take a radiation build Ignis,  spin in a circle, and apply more radiation than Oberon can.

When I look at what frame to take to a mission I ask myself, "why should I take this frame"?  When I look at Oberon I just don't see any reason to. The only thing he has that's really helpful is Renewal,  and Trinity's Blessing beats that hands down. His weak CC and below average damage don't make up for being a lesser Trinity. In fact, I consider Volt and Rhino better "jack of all trades" than Oberon. At least when their damage falls off those abilities can be used as amazing CC.

  17. 2 minutes ago, Jobistober said:

    Why would anyone do that?

And if we could refrain from turning this into a bash-anyone-who-likes-Oberon thread, that'd be great.

Wasn't trying to bash him,  I was just trying to make a point.  Renewal is the only thing that Oberon has.

  18. 5 minutes ago, Hopakkiin said:

I need to throw in, that I usually run sorties with most damage taken, but least deaths. Making the point, that you can suck it up if you are Oberon. Oberon is one well balanced frame.

Try running a sortie without Renewal. Does he still feel balanced?

Every time someone defends the rework they're only talking about Renewal. Yeah, Renewal is great (though I still the energy drain is too high), but I kinda wish the rest of his kit was useful too.

Reminds me of a Kuva Flood Rescue I did yesterday....

I brought Limbo. Easy Kuva. Easy Rescue. Good for picking up downed Teammates.

I went into the Rift for the entire match, only leaving literally once to banish the Rescue.

We head towards Evac with Hostage in tow, at which point we run into the Kuva Siphon.

I stand on the side-lines, keeping track of where Kuva will be coming from, Banish duration for Hostage, and checking if Teammates go down to Revive (And they did, a lot. Maybe 2-3 pick ups each)

And then, they started yelling at me.

    "OMG! I can't kill anything! F*cking Limbo!"
"What are you doing, Limbo?! Seriously?!"

"Just, I am so done with this!"

Huh? I didn't do anything. I didn't cast anything. I've picked up 5 fallen people thus far. I haven't set foot out of the Rift, and I've picked up 3 of 4 incoming Kuvas. What were they talking about? I was literally carrying the team.

But there they were, Face-Tanking Spear wielding Kuva Guardians, playing in enemy mosh pits, Shooting at Ramparts unbreakable glass screens.

And somehow, I, the Limbo, was responsible for all their pain and suffering.

Moral of the Story: Even if you do NOTHING to interfere with your fellow players, you're still ruining everyone's fun.

    Rip Warframe Limbo 2017

Are you sure you weren't accidentally hitting enemies with Banish?  I've had that happen a lot with other Limbo players. They accidentally banish me all the time while trying to banish enemies.

Making Banish an AOE turned out to be a big "careful what you wish for" moment.

I would rather just take off that bonus energy drain for healing more people it really makes me want to not heal anyone other than myself BTW he can heal objectives like cryopods and the trams in lor. Having the Bonus energy drain really makes him a god mid tank but a bad heal becaus say Nekros Mendquinox and let's not forget the holy Trinity don't have that additionAL energy drain making them better for team heals. Or at the very least heavily reduce it. Trinity instant heals and gives damage mitigation for gods sake.

    This^^

They should just remove the "per allied healed" and make it a flat amount.

  21. What's wrong is that they didn't really do much. He needed a full rework to bring him into the current level of the game, but ended up just getting a little tune up.

They fixed the problems with Renewal (except energy consumption), and it's finally in a good place and what it should have always been. But then that was it. They slapped in some poorly thought out interactions between his abilities, claimed it was synergy, called it a day. Oberon is all about Renewal now, his other abilities are just minor CC. Except for Reckoning, which is terrible past mid levels.

I just took Oberon on today's Sortie Exterminate (Solo). I didn't have much trouble (Thanks to Renewal), but it was definitely my primary that was dealing all the damage. I was using Smite on big targets (Bombards, Heavy Gunners), and while nothing was dying from it the minor CC did help a little bit. If I ran into a large group I would throw down Hollowed Ground and duck out of the room for second, then go back in and pick them off. I tried to use Reckoning (With a Hollowed Ground active), and even after spamming it 5 times enemies were getting right back up. Didn't bother with Reckoning for the rest of the mission.

Oberon is definitely better, that's not in question. The question is: Is DE going to polish him and make him good, or just leave him as good enough?
