So this idea came to me while reading another thread and I thought it had a better chance of being seen if I made a separate post about it.
The idea is based on the functionality of the boomerang in The Legend of Zelda series. It would be a mod that functions similarly to the vacuum ability of the carrier sentinel.
You could toss the Kestrel and it would pick up all useful items in its flight path, range increased by fusion...or possibly number of items it can carry increased by fusion.
I think this would be a good addition and fairly easy to implement to help satisfy those feeling neglected by the glaive love in update 10.
Edit: (This is just the other ideas i suggested below)
Some in the other threads suggested a homing ability for the Kestrel, allowing it to seek a nearby target after impacting the original one, up to however many bounces it has. This would be cool and allow for higher levels of crowd control, but I imagine something like this being appropriate if they ever released a Chakram type weapon. You know, Xena style.
Maybe something like a mini explosive that is reapplied each time it returns to the user and would function similar to a single target molecular prime. When the Kestrel strikes the first target, it deposits the explosive on the enemy which explodes when the target is killed. Maybe even make the effect greater if the same target is tagged multiple times before death.

I am surprised no one has suggested this already in the thread with regard to unique Kestrel. Now that we have something like the vacuum effect on the carrier mod, it would be awesome to have that same effect applied to the kestrel as a nod to the item collecting ability of the boomerang in the Legend of Zelda series. I would never unequip it with that mod.

I kinda always use split chamber as well...is there any reason not to take split chamber?

Going to the Dojo really shouldn't feel like a chore. But with the current set up, it does.
Paying resource costs meant for hundreds of people with only a handful of actives...makes the thought of grinding feel insufficient.
The Grandmaster plat is starting to dry up and I don't know if I can justify throwing any more money at this game when it feels like no one wants to fix old problems and just keeps distracting us with new stuff that costs even more money and or time.
-
I can't answer because I have used a fair amount of plat...but to be sure you understand, Mastery is only gained by leveling new frames/weapons/sentinels to 30. So unless you are constantly cycling out or buying new slots, it can be hard to get a high rank. I have a similar play time and im around mastery 10, but I have a large stable of frames and weapons.

So ever since update 10 I have had a issue where after a multiplayer mission the game would hang before the result screen, then inform me that connection to host was lost or that session is unavailable. This time I also lost the ability to press the back button, and when i zoomed out the planets were missing. So I logged out and back in and this is what greeted me:
-
My issue has been post match every time. It hangs before the results page comes up, then hangs again after I close it and then informs me that the connection has dropped.

You are lucky if soul punch hits more than 1 target, terror with stretch still doesn't seem very reliable or worth the energy and it lasts long enough that it is frequently "in use" when you need it. Desecrate is almost useless since half the time people kill things with powers that dont even leave a corpse. The Ult is meh and you frequently cant use it more than once because it gets locked in "Power in Use" limbo.

Really? Everyone is so busy being snarky that they can't actually look past his words and see what is in the picture. He is not referring to the bullets obviously by the description. If you look, the muzzle flash is blue/white however...maybe thats what he meant.....

Or...you know....they could create another game mode that still uses them. Same as it currently is, maybe alerts or something. Have the ships show up at random times and places, for the duration infested will start dropping them again if you have none. Win and you get resources, lose and that area gets a resource penalty. Just a thought.

Looks like Vauban. Anyways, you should have a good idea on abilities and such or have fun flying.
TBH, I like it. Maybe if they ever get around to skins for characters this would be quite fitting for Vauban.

I accepted the challenge and beat everyone else. Few could successfully defeat me, ever.

I do not know how to actually embed the video, sorry.
Edit: I have obtained multiple times in the 5's.
I guess you skipped over my post on the 2nd page that was quoted multiple times? Its right at the top, but ill repost for you:
-
That was clever use of in game mechanics. My hat off to him.
The final jump i would agree with, even though it defeats the intent of the course. The invisible lip on the edge of the falling floor however is not clever use of game mechanics, its an exploit of a mistake made by the devs.

I hope this is the fastest time caught on video actually running the course. 00:40:22
To be fair, you used 2 of the things that were in my exploits video to achieve that time =)
-
Oh good, I was hoping this would go up. Here is my video, please fix:
Edit: Should I get your attention with this, please also look into these other things as well:
Edit 2: You will all be happy to know that through practice, dedication and a little luck...I have beaten my previous time!

Always a pleasure, will be watching for the dojo obstacle course thread you promised us =)
-
we get 7 or 9 less warframe points to spend with the aura, so if we get 1 EXTRA point with each mastery point for auras only, we can fix warframe points reduction.
where are you getting 7 or 9? If you use the correct polarity then its like...4. This likely wont change because it encourages people to buy more forma.

Ok, a little addendum to my previous video, it is possible to beat the course in about 5 seconds:
-
Hopefully they see my post about all the issues and exploits currently possible in the course. This is in no way valid, but it is possible:
-
This is as low as ive been able to go so far:
-
How to win at obstacle course:
-Loki with acrobat, rush, stamina increase
-Dual Zoren with attack speed increase
proceed to fly
You cannot use powers or attack, so the dual zoren will not help you here.
-
So that's what happened to yah.
Yeah, pillars ate me and spit me out somewhere in the dojo =/
-
I put together a video of some of the things I experienced while messing around in the obstacle course.
If someone gets on the course in any way other than using the switch, the pillars at the beginning tend to all raise, when normally a gap is left to navigate through. The player who doesn't belong will see the gaps, but the person who used the switch will not be able to pass normally.
It is possible for the pillars to spontaneously kill you.
It is possible to bypass the falling floor tiles by hugging the wall and walking on the edge.
There are multiple ways to get on the course other than using the switch.
I make this in the hopes that by more people knowing, the faster it gets fixed.
Edit: You can beat the course in about 5 seconds. I suggest making a blocking volume around the entire starting area except for the finish line, and making sure you cant wall run on it.
Unique Kestrel Mod
in Weapons
Posted
Hmm, only played a little Dark Sector and that was long enough ago that I don't remember details like this =/
Well, then both I guess but this makes it not fulfill the role of unique mod as I had hoped.
