i dont find handycapping myself particularily fun. i enjoy trying to minmax the game to the best of my abilities and if i can break things. equipting objectively inferior weapons just makes me feel bad because i know that the content im playing isnt strong, its just that im weak.

if that's sometime you can enjoy, hey, thats great, but i cant. i just feel bad doing that.

you guys are missing the point. shes right. the closest we have to a challenge is endless, n we have to wait an hour before the challenge actually starts up. gimping ourselves is not how u create endgame. there needs to be content that one player cant do on their own. We need to be e xtremely overwhelmed while not making US any weaker.

How is being in the Top 10 on Steam consistently month to month for a F2P game not "all that impressive"? Especially for something that isn't an FPS. You have the console population also. Please don't say dumb things.

Rainbow Six Siege S#&$s on it's playerbase constantly yet it has a higher player count AND costs money. Also has huge console playerbase.

GTA V is old as dirt, cost money, and still matches Warframe's playerbase. Also has console playerbase.

Team Fortress 2 is old as dirt, and trading is barely a thing anymore, and it still beats Warframe's player count by 20k.

Destiny 2 costs a S#&$ ton of money, they S#&$ on their playerbase, they launch for 100 dollars to get all content, and then not even a year into it's life cycle add another 75 dollars to get the rest of the content and still beats out Warframe despite being significantly worse in how they treat their players.

Warframe's playerbase and retention isn't that impressive considering it's age, pay model, and gameplay. It doesn't break any records outside of having arguably the best F2P monetization, with only a few real contenders.

So, what I'm saying isn't dumb, you just don't like it I guess. Either way, I don't think Excal will every be in Smash lol.

You can't get more out of place than Snake anyway, so that's not exactly a concern. Nor is the monetisation scheme.

And I do think Warframe is a pretty exceptional game. Sure, the paymodel is extremely solid and absolutely helping it rocket to the top of the charts, but it also balances content for immense variety in gameplay and fun. You don't get such a huge playerbase simply by having a good pay model. And in terms of timeless characters, there's plenty of them in the roster that aren't exactly confident bearers of that title, like certain recent additions. Even Bayonetta, who won the popular vote by a landslide, is not exactly timeless yet.

All in all, while it's obviously an extremely long shot due to the strenuous link between DE and Nintendo, it's not unfeasible.

Bayonetta is a Nintendo Property. Also, every F2P games has a large playerbase. The active playerbase for Warframe isn't even all that impressive. I'd say Excalibur has as much of a chance getting into Smash as, say, a champion from League.

    Just imagine.

    Excalibur in Smash Bros Ultimate.

It would be a bad crossover imo. The art style would look out of place in Smash and I just can't see them adding a F2P character to one of their trademark title.

Edit: Also Warframe isn't an exceptional game outside of it's paymodel. By exceptional I mean a timeless classic. Like Snake isn't a nintendo property but the MGS franchise and characters transcend their developers. Sonic isn't either but he's an age old timeless character that's been in Nintendo games before and been a friendly rival to Mario. All other characters are or were at one time Nintendo properties, or partial properties.

  5. Wait, what? How'd it just disappear?

Also, it says you joined in 2016, but Primed Chamber was only actually around in 2013 unless you were really lucky and transmuted it, but you weren't around for that either.

Also there is a ton of confirmations for when you trade, and warframe.market is a third party platform. So no one could take it through that site.

Also, plenty of people have 100k plat.

  6. Wait time has been there for five years, it isn't gonna change any time soon. I've crafted plenty of frames and waited 3 days, there's still tons of stuff to do while you wait.

No casual platform migration for anyone. PC only gets it when they launch on a new console and even that's only for a short period. Account migration is very unlikely to happen considering how easy it would be to exploit the economy differences and screw Tennogen creators.

Also the soon to be 5 contracts that DE has with respective companies.

  8. Meta complaints are one of my favorite things because they are just as delusional as the baseless complaints of the very people you're trying to counter. You're the opposite end of the spectrum. For every "DE gets nothing done" there is a "DE are game dev gods who can do anything and any criticism can be explained away by their team size/company size/trying their best/etc."

The only issue I have is that DE has a ton to be criticized for. They're doing a lot better than they were in 2017, I will say, but they also still do some really silly things. There are 5 year old bugs that don't get addressed, we still have the worst moderation I've seen in a game of this caliber, they add a lot of really shallow "new" content without expanding on what exist as much.

Yeah, DE's employees are only human, and a lot of my gripes rest with the designers and community managers, and not the programmers and artists who do the more heavy day to day stuff. The people who criticized DE are criticizing the people who make the big decisions. Those people are worthy of criticism, and complaining about the idea of developers you like getting criticized is a dumb complaint. You're caring more than they do I assure you, because no matter how many people call this game S#&$, they're still making a metric #*!% ton of money.

what you talking about? I literally explained that PvP in Warframe is a no-go and literally said that liking Destiny 2 is fine, I just don't get why people compare it with Warframe so much õ_o

It's barely directly PVP. It's mostly vs AI but with two teams pitted against each other.

I figured that was possible, but the OP states "of the same category". I am taking this to mean, trade a secondary for a secondary, melee for melee etc. My response is based on that. I may have missed this bit, but will the new system allow you to get duplicates of the weapons? If not, this proposal would not work anyway.

He means strictly for the daily reward junk. IE exchanging the Azima for the Zenistar.

  11. 15 minutes ago, krc473 said:

That’s not going to happen. There is absolutely no reason for DE to even consider it.

    • the point in the changes is to allow people to get stuff faster/the order they want. Not immediately.

You misunderstood his post. He's talking about people who've already gotten some of the weapons being able to trade them out for the ones they actually want.
