Also your monetization of these new relics looks scummy and desperate (are you guys in financial trouble?).

Well, yeah. These mods add too much, like, way too much monotonous and outright boring grind to get to the fun part - fighting the liches. In Shadow of Mordor/War, which was the referecne for lich system, fighting bosses is fun because you can try to kill them whenever you want after you get intel on their identity or simply meet them. Of course, if the boss is too hard, immune to your preferred attacks or something, you need to gather more intel on him and take your time to prepare, but that isn't mandatory. No hours upon hours of pain and chores. Returning to the packs, it looks like "create a problem, sell the solution" in the worst sense of it. Not "pay to skip", but "pay to win"

I believe, the lich system meant to be a challenging endgame content which means players need to actually achieve (same with ephemeras) the victory, not buy it. And "challenging" means actually having to fight the boss using the right strategy to defeat it, not layers of RNG, not the grindwall, even a pay-to-win one. The things get worse because you can't skip a useless lich and killing one takes as much time as one with good weapon.

As for finances, I understand that supporting a game like warframe isn't cheap. But pay-to-win shouldn't be a solution as it decreases the overall quality of the game. A subscription woud be better.

DE, we believe in you. The lich system as an idea is great, but it needs balancing and polish to be what it meant to be.

It opens a trade invite dialog from wherever you are, you trade, you go back to what you were doing.

It's good for solo, but in coop it can be annoying and irrelevant due to, including but not limited to, host migration. It still takes time, breaks the flow and takes too many loading screens. IMHO, it would be better if it was possible to do it via a dialog like a party invite. Maybe some form of captcha would be needed to enshure safety...

There were 100% without a doubt tons of bots on D3's AH system towards the end

Could you, please, provide any actual evidence of trading software for D3 aside from D3 itself? For as I found out, "bots" were either a boogieman or another name for human frauds/monopolists/resellers

I bet Blizzard had all sorts of countermeasures to prevent Diablo's AH from being abused but the botters still found a way.

I looked through some articles on that topic and didn't find anything on bots. It would be great to know if there was any way to access the auction from a website or something. Or some actual evidence of diablo trade bots existing. Couldn't find any.

The more noticeable issue, however, is the inflation. And bad design in general. Diablo's AH used gold (a counterpart of credits) as a trade currency. Y'know, that currency you can earn millions of after a couple of index runs. So of course it collapsed.

Your assertion that it is meaningless is the issue.

    Can we talk about it?

I may be wrong, but I don't get, how it isn't meaningless. The active trade system as it is now does nothing to make people socialize. I think that was the reason DE decided not to change it. But it doesn't work as intended, it only create frustration for economically active players, buyers or sellers, while not doing anything good for any aspect of the game. Again, AFAIK. Therefore it's nothing but meaningless.

People would use bots to instantly snipe all the best deals and re-sell them for a higher price. Thus, asshats would generate loads plat without lifting a finger while legit players would have no hope of getting anything for a reasonable price.

AFAIK that was actually one of the big reasons Diablo 3's auction house failed.

For this thing to happen, there has to be an open API for bots to get information from. Also, as I think it would work, chat purchase links are as safe as currently existing system, only less loading screens.

Passive trading would only happen if Plat becomes untradable and is no longer used as the trading currency. You either buy it or go out of your way to get it from other people.

Again, why is the ability to earn platinum in-game a bad thing? Even from game revenue perspective, plat is bought to trade for prime stuff or mods even more often than for store items (as far as I noticed), and doesn't lose it's value, as platinum can't be earned purely in-game, only bought or traded. Also there are fashionframe and slots that remove platinum from circulation, that is act as a currency sink. So I think it's a really good economy model, as it is. Aside from frustrating trade process. Can we agree that meaningless frustration is a generally bad thing, and should be dealt with?

I, for one, can't wait to purchase Veiled Rivens and Condition Overload/Maiming Strike for 2p each. (5p for x3 if I find someone desperate) /s

Warframe.market exists, so whatever "tanking" would happen with plat economy already happened. The only difference is frustration of 2 loading screens and mission abortion, courtesy of active trade system.

No, the concept didn't fail, but when so many things using that concept have failed, people being weary of it and considering it a terrible idea is a reasonable expectation, because precedent makes it clear that it is a risky and failure prone concept.

Yeah, okay... Have you considered that maybe I just want to be educated when asking for examples, and what better place to ask than someone who apparently knows this stuff that I'm asking examples for? You assuming ill intent doesn't mean inquiring about examples is something stupid. But if you're unwilling to provide them, just say that instead of acting like you're somehow better cause you have knowledge the other party doesn't.

Good, thank you! See, I had no idea of those, because all the MMOs I've played had dead economies, and were using auction/trading houses. I've heard about WoW from someone once, but it was in passing. Now that you have put out those examples, why don't you educate people on why they work? Wouldn't that make your points and your support for this idea so much stronger?

WF has lots of prime parts and platinum sinks, like Baro or slots and cosmetics, so inflation(the problem behind most collapsing AH economies) wouldn't be more of a problem than it is now.

  10. The platinum economics in warframe is great as of itself, allowing players to buy things they have a hard time farming from other players, or selling some unnecessary items for platinum to spend on cosmetics, but the trade system feels quite clumsy.

So to trade, a player has to:

    1.  find someone willing to buy their stuff with the help of the overcrowded trade chat, Maroo's bazaar or third-party services like warframe.market
    2. invite the buyer to dojo or Maroo's bazaar if not there already
    3. find trading post or each other
    4. find the stuff in question in inventory (it became easier with new ui, but still)
    5. finally trade

All that takes time and interferes with actually playing the game as it needs personal attention for a relatively long time.

There are some ideas to improve trading experience:

    • In-chat selling:
    1. Player 1 wants to sell stuff
    2. They write a trade offer message like [ item | price ] in trade or personal chat.
    3. They confirm that offer is correct via popup window and pretty
    4. Player 2 sees the message, wants to buy item for price and clicks the message.
    5. They see item preview like with [item] links, but with a buy option
    6. If they want to buy, they click the corresponding button
    7. Player 1 gets platinum from Player 2,
    • Passive trading post with /dojo clan command*
    1. Player 1 wants to sell a lot of stuff, has a dojo with a trading post
    2. They go to the trading post and put items there as in inventory menu, but they also have assign prices in platinum
    3.  And they can do whatever they want, even close the game
    4. Player 2 somehow, via warframe.market or featured dojos or that command can visit Player 1's dojo and buy stuff they want as in "in-chat selling" above
    5. Player 1 gets platinum when items are sold

    * The command is meant to allow players to visit dojos. Idk what is the best way to implement this. Maybe it will require an in-game catalogue or warframe.market links could utilize the command...

    Thank you for attention)

UPD: turns out there is a post already

I would like to trade in the app too.

Trading consumes significant in game time, and I wish I could use this time to play and not just being at dojo waiting for traders to come/going to other dojos and wait the trader to find the terminal. We already need hours to farm resources and prime parts.

Not to mention that if we are in a group we need to leave it to trade and then ask to come back in.

Now, I understand that trading I the app brings a whole lot of other problems too.

First of all DE would have to eliminate Dojo trading and replace it with a section/tab in the market terminal. This alone would make Dojos less visited, and mostly needed for its labs.

Second, they had to figure a way to make it extra secure, so no one could borrow your smartphone and just wipe your plat and items.

Third, for me personally in game it's easier to check my stock, what parts I need for a certain blueprint, if I already have a mod or arcane and so on. Right now it's a bit clumsy to do that in the app, it would need a rework.

Seeing how long DE takes to work on some aspects, seems that they're more focused on developing new visuals and frames that attract new public. Chat system needs a rework since beta. Matchmaking needs improvement.

So, yes, trade app please! Expectations? None.

First of all, dojo trading feels quite clumsy, s, and with the Railjack dojos are getting more usage, so they aren't that likely to become redundant. As for security, there isn't such thing as overkill, but a PIN would suffice imo.

Second, trading needs something more streamlined, like a passive trading post, so a player can put items there, assign prices and go farm stuff, not having to sell each and every bit personally. Or an ability to sell directly via trade chat like [ name plat ].

Probably there are better ways, need to think of it

While I still don't know about if I prefer Nightwave to Alerts, the fact you can't opt out of it and still play the game is annoying. Specifically, one of my favourite things to do is functionally axed: Taking a bunch of new gear (or gear I'm getting through forma) and level it more or less at the same time. Now, I will concede that this is because I play 90% Solo, that being said, DE has repeatedly said they don't want to alienate the "clans of one"

Well, seeing as now I have to reserve a slot in my loadout for a high radiation damage weapon, in the off chance the Wolf shows up, I am functionally unable to do the exact thing I want to do. He a field boss I can't dispatch and have done with, nor avoid while running the exact missions I want to chill in. He's shown up twice for me, only had to fight him once (second time was during the extraction sequence) but that doesn't change the fact we will have a tanky, proc-immune field boss that can just show up in most missions in the game. I don't want to think how awful it is for someone that's just trying to get from junction to junction solo, or someone who is trying to get a core loadout forma'd (like real early game, remember, you can't opt out of Nightwave like you could Alerts).

It's not much different from a Stalker

  13. While the alert systems had it's problems like "went out for an hour - farewell to stuff" and same old 24/7 waiting for something of interest, I can't disagree that nightwave is also too much of a grindfest. As the whole Warframe always was. As any looter-shooter. On one hand, nightwave gives challenges, a reason to go 1h survival, for example. And at least some reward for doing that. And there are legit ways to farm standing aside from those "kill 5 rats"-challenges, namely - farming fugitives, that can compensate some standing losses. On the other, some challenges can become really frustrating. Like those with obligatory social/pvp activities. What would happen if they do a conclave challenge...
Maybe the solution would have something to do with syndicate-like missions and giving some wolf-creds with each rank, and an ability to hush Nora. As for lore, they can do some filler stuff every two months, it's a reasonable term. I think DE will be able to keep this somewhat interesting.
