  1. I fixed it. I disabled Cybersec on NordVPN, and the WF wiki opened normally, once again. Thanks for pointing out the adblockers.

I had a similar problem with Cybersec and DI.FM; I'm a free user on the site and it prevented me from listening in on any stations with Cybersec turned on.

  5. One thing in WF I dislike more than the RNG-based reward system is the current leveling system. I wanted to level up my Harrow after adding 1 Forma, without an Affinity Booster, but it took me HOURS to get him to rank 30 by simply joining public groups in Helene and Hydron with only my low-ranked Harrow and max-ranked Tiberon Prime. Most squads wanted to leave at wave 5 or 10, resulting in only small level-ups at the end of each mission. I was very disappointed. Then I thought, "this doesn't make any sense to me why this leveling system is still around".

Sure, the current leveling system made sense back in the beginning, when there wasn't much content in WF. Now that there is much more content in WF, with Fortuna coming soon, and a higher player base(?), I'd say the current leveling system is outdated, all things considered. Most of the good content in WF has higher-level enemies, mostly level 15-40, which includes most of the Star Chart, single-player Quests and limited-time events such as Plague Star, and the game starts to get really complicated at those levels; it's easy for those players who already have strong mods, weapons and Warframes and know how to mod for each faction and mission type, but can get really hard for newer players who don't know or have much. We already have to wait to get the resources, mods and parts that we want through RNG, and we also have to wait for things to get built in the foundry, so why wait even longer by leveling up your Warframe?

I understand that WF is a free-to-play game and that DE is a business. Already, we need platinum to buy slots for our gear if we want more of them such as weapons and Warframes, and also to buy things from other players in Trade Chat such as Prime parts, Rivens and ultra-rare mods like Condition Overload and Corrupted mods. Orokin Reactors and Catalysts are so rare already I sometimes end up buying one for my gear. I don’t mean to be rude or disrespectful, but isn’t that along with Prime Access/Vault enough to support the studio?

I have a few suggestions for making leveling up and modding a bit faster/easier, especially for new/casual players coming from other games:

    1. Remove ranking/affinity for gear entirely. That is, everyone starts their gear with a mod capacity of 30, or 60 with an Orokin Reactor/Catalyst, as if the gear in question is rank 30 in the current system. You would not need to level it up at all, when you first acquire it and even after a polarization! That is, you can use as many Forma as you’d like if you have them! Experienced players can have their newly-built Warframe or weapon built the way they want in no time! Newer players can still solo the majority of Star-Chart missions and contribute to random squads at mid-level missions and not be “deadweight”.

Forma would be removed from the Market, making them not purchasable with Platinum. I think this will balance things out as far as “leveling up” goes. Affinity Boosters would be changed to Foundry Boosters, which would shorten or even eliminate building times in the Foundry, for a limited amount of time.

Without affinity, Mastery will also change; you could get mastery for a weapon by getting a minimum number of kills with it, and for a Warframe, cast each ability a minimum number of times. For Zaws and Kitguns, you’d have to get mastery for the weapon in a similar way to a "named" weapon before you can gild it.

    2. Remove mod polarities entirely, give gear a generous starting mod capacity like, say, 20 regardless of Mastery Rank, and increase the maximum rank for gear to 50, or 99 with an Orokin Reactor/Catalyst. A lot of “necessary” mods in the game have 10 ranks or require more than 10 mod capacity, which results in a very high drain, like 12 or 16! Max-ranked Rivens require 18! Orokin Reactors, Catalysts, and Forma are already rare in WF, especially for newer players, and with a starting mod capacity of 20 at rank 0, newer players can install a few mods and become less of a “deadweight”, mid-game. With a mod capacity of 150 for any gear, players have a lot of flexibility in their mod setups. Mod capacity will be increased not by leveling up, but by reaching certain level milestones with the gear, similar to increasing base health, shields and energy capacity by leveling Warframes in the current system. Players would have 80 mod capacity at rank 50, and 150 at rank 99.

Leveling gear will be slower at any rank higher than 50. Still, Forma does not have to be limited to being used as resources to build Clan-tech weapons, Greater Focus Lenses, Exilus Adapters, and Clan Dojo rooms; they can also be used to build different tiers of Affinity Boosters. A 2x booster would require 1 Forma, 2 for a 4x, and so on and so forth. Players would not be able to install an Orokin Reactor/Catalyst in their gear until they’ve reached level 50 with it, similarly to how polarizing works in the current system; from there, they can go up to level 99! Once you’ve done grinding one piece of gear to level 99, you would not have to level it up ever again!

    3. Remove building times in the Foundry entirely. The current leveling system could stay the same, only this time the long building times for things like Warframes and Forma would not exist anymore! Got all of the components to build the Warframe that you want? You can acquire it immediately, for free! Got a lot of Forma blueprints? Get them all built in no time, also for free! Already, we have to wait for the RNG gods to bless us with the resources and pieces that we want, and level them up and/or add Forma to get the Mastery or the builds that we want, so why wait even longer to build them in the Foundry, if you don’t have any Platinum to rush them?

I think making one of these changes would increase the appeal of WF as a free-to-play game, for various reasons. For now, I may as well stop playing the game in Public, and just solo or play with friends and clan mates, preferably friendly players. Not just because leveling up is so slow in most public Defense missions without an Affinity Booster or that I can't find/make a squad getting a old, rare Prime part such as a Nami Skyla Prime Blade, but because I’m so “sensitive”. I'm a casual player, and I play other games from time to time, mostly single-players (I'm sort of a completest, myself), but still I don't want to be left behind whenever something new comes up.

  6. Finally, I got Condition Overload! 🙂

I was in Ophelia with a random group which included two low-MR players. Everyone was running around and the low-MR players kept dying. As soon as one of the low-MRs lost all of their revives, they quit, losing out on Condition Overload. 😕

Either way, I'm happy I got it now. At the moment, I thought the RNG Gods deemed me unworthy after attempting to get CO on Ophelia and by transmutation so many times in the past. I wondered why; maybe they thought I needed to improve my aim and agility in the game, my two weaknesses which I don't believe I can ever improve (then again, I find myself actively reloading my guns now compared to before, when I couldn't get used to it, plus my aim with a thumbstick is better now than it was over a decade ago, when I sucked at Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal on PS2). I did spend time increasing my Ostron standing on the Plains and building Zaws before I attempted Ophelia one more time, and I lucked out on CO! 🙂

when you upload an image to imgur, and you get to the "give your post a title" page, drag your mouse over the image and a little down arrow will appear on the top right of the image.

drag your mouse over that and you should get a little drop down list where one of the options is "get share links"

click on that and you need to copy the code in the box labelled "BBCode (Forums)"

paste that in your forum post and you are good to go!

otherwise you can click on an image you have already uploaded and in the little window that pops up you should get the share links on the right

either way your image should embed in the post like so:

  8. I still don't have Condition Overload and it won't be a while until I finally get my hands on it. I know how to get it, but it can get really tiresome. But I do have quite a few Relentless Combination mods. If I don't have Condition Overload, is Relentless Combination a good alternative?

Both mods are similar in a way: that they work best with high-status melee weapons or warframe abilities that can land (certain) status effects. Condition Overload is obviously the better mod; all you need is to land any status effect on an enemy to deal more melee damage to them. Relentless Combination is a bit more complicated: you need to let Slash status take effect in order to increase your combo counter, which will increase your melee damage. Any status effect will work with Condition Overload, and it works best with a melee weapon that has 3 or 4 damage types at base, such as IPS. Relentless Combination requires Slash status on your melee weapon or warframe ability(?), so weapons without Slash damage such as Silva and Aegis Prime won't work with the mod by themselves.

  9. I did some play-testing in the Simulacrum using weapons that I have with similar stats to the one I was going to make, and have decided to just use "Demon Lance" for Grineer, Corpus, and Corrupted. I still don't have CO or DC, but that doesn't mean that I can't use Demon Lance at high-level content. This is the mod setup that I'm using for it, for now.

Sure, it doesn't deal a ton of damage against the toughest units of those factions at Sortie-level (100), but with a status chance of 85% and 6 different status types including Impact, Slash, Viral, and Blast/Gas, along with Blood Rush and Primed Reach, it turned out to be a reliable, supportive melee weapon. Corrupred Bombards and Nullifiers went down in no more than 20-30 hits each. For Corpus, I've arranged the 60/60 elemental mods for Gas and Magnetic, and for Grineer, Corrupted and Infestation with Augmented Enemy Armor, Corrosive and Blast. 47.6% (from base 14%) status chance wouldn't cut it for me (I tried with a Tipedo with a base status chance of 20% --> 68%). I even tried crit builds with Guandao using Radiation against the Bombards and Toxin against Corpus and it didn't do as well as I thought, maybe because I didn't put any Forma in it. 😂 You're right, @Kyoresh, Plague Zaws are better than any other melee weapon, for most factions and outside of enemy physical/elemental enhancement Sorties anyways! 😄

I've built a few one-handed Zaws as well: a Mewan sword more focused on crit+CO than Krohkur, a Sepfahn katana with more crit (because of Skiajati), and a crit+CO-oriented Balla dagger. With the melee changes coming up, I might just donate most of my Zaws for Ostron standing and keep the Plague Zaws and "Gungnir", depending on the stats of the named weapons in each type. The Mewan will be named "Bloodlust" (because of the default red color of the blade when gilded with a Plague Grip), Sepfahn will be "Murasamune" (after a named greatblade in Patapon 3), and Balla will be "Sailor Moon" (because of its crescent shape 😂).

  10. 7 hours ago, Kyoresh said:

actually Gas, its just AoE Toxin. But you can stick to Corrosive because Corpus are the weakest Faction and only Grineer/Corrupted are hard to Kill 🙂

If I'm going for a crit build, then I should just use Toxin damage against Corpus. I feel as if I need a much higher status chance for Gas to be as effective as Toxin+crit+PR.

  11. 18 minutes ago, Kyoresh said:

dont go for impact damage, thats just useless. You dont need it against Corpus. Slash, toxin and gas all bypass shields so its really useless. and Shattering impact is really only good for Eidolon hunts. The best zaww is one with Plague Kripath, there just is nothing stronger right now. and 40-50% status is enough 🙂 I can show you my Zaw if you want, im able to 1 Hit lvl 155 Heavy Gunners.

Sure, I'd like to see your Zaw. 🙂

I may as well go with Cyath with the build in the first post, then. Separate mod setups for Grineer, Corpus, and Corrupted. Plus, I prefer using polearms over staves.

Gas and Magnetic for Corpus, Corrosive and Blast for Corrupted, and for the Grineer, Corrosive and Blast and True Steel in place of Primed Reach. How would these builds perform?

  12. I might just go with the Kronsh using this build. It might be good all-round against Grineer, Corpus, and Corrupted. Impact damage is good against shields, and I can still use Shattering Impact to strip armor. Corrosive status would be better for CO builds, though. I would still have an almost-40% status chance, so I would be proccing Slash and Viral quite frequently. Alternatively, I can replace Voltaic Strike with Drifting Contact once I get that mod so that I could use that Zaw more seriously rather than just quick melee and status. That, or I can use my Riven which gives it a higher combo duration, Cold damage (more Viral), and a chance to crit on slide attacks.

Just go with the moveset you like best and then go crit and attack speed from there!

Now that you mentioned it, I'm considering a different build for "Gungnir", replacing Berserker with Primed Reach. Would that be better against Sentients? Because I wanted to kill them as quickly as possible, which is why I went with the previous build.

  14. I've built a Plague Kripath Zaw, named it "Demon Lance", and plan on using this mod setup, but I'm still missing Condition Overload and Drifting Contact. It turns out I won't be getting CO any time soon... So, I'm planning to build more Zaws that can utilize the mods that I currently have.

For the Infestation and Grineer with all of their armor stripped, I plan on building a crit-focused Dokrahm, using this mod setup until I re-roll my Dokrahm Riven with the stats that I'm looking for (reach, combo duration, damage, etc.). I would name it "Soul Calibur". Using Vargeet Jai II, I could use (Viral) status instead of straight elemental damage if I wanted to. For the Sentients, I will build a crit-heavy Dehtat with this mod setup. I would name it "Gungnir".

For everyone else, I'm going for this mod setup. I'm going for a Zaw with a good attack speed, good reach (because of those Nullifiers), at least 25% critical chance, and at least 14% status chance, so I would build the Zaw with Seekalla as the Grip and Vargeet Jai II as the Link. Problem is choosing which Zaw Strike would be good for my play style. I have a good Riven for Kronsh, but since I'll be arranging the 60/60 elemental mods for Gas and Magnetic against Corpus, I wouldn't need so much Impact damage to deplete their shields. I would also like to proc more Slash status. I kinda like using staves but I like using polearms better for that quick attack on most stances. If only I have another Plague Keewar Strike, I would totally use that (because of its higher status chance), but I also have another Plague Kripath Strike. I've built my first Zaw using a Plague Keewar, but the stats on it are not what I'm looking for and I built it when I was at "Offworlder" standing. I named that Zaw "Deathmaster". Play-style-wise, I would lean towards Cyath or Plague Kripath, but I also like the look of the Sepfahn on a 2-handed handle, making it look like a Naginata that uses staff stances (Really, why is this not a polearm, instead? Why is Kronsh with a 2-handed handle not a hammer?), plus the extra 2% crit and status chances are kinda hard to beat... I'll name this Zaw "Esperanza", because I hope to get a CO, one day...

  15. I was running a mid-level Bounty on the Plains and one member of the squad was one-shotting the dropships using their Vulkar Wraith! I couldn't believe my eyes!

I tried to replicate the build with everything that I had in my mod collection. I have no good Riven for it. After doing some research on the Tusk Firbolgs and Tusk Bolkors using the wiki, I came up with this mod setup: https://goo.gl/1ZgEzm

I tried that build on level 18 Firbolgs and Bolkors on the Plains and it wasn't one-shotting them. They went down in 3-5 shots. I was pretty disappointed by that. I really hoped that "Lasting Purity" augment mod would help a lot.

Is a one-shot build even possible without a Riven? If so, what am I doing wrong?

  16. I bring Inaros for soloing most mission types. Scarab Armor + Desiccation + dagger w/ CL makes for good survivability, especially since I'm not good at avoiding damage; my play style is slower than other players' and I usually aim my gun and firing at enemies like I do in Uncharted, and I just can't handle so much stimuli in a game, so I'm attracted to tank and invisibility frames.

by all means use Attica if you want to use it - it's a good Weapon.

i mention Status as Status is useful as is Crits - Corrosive, Radiation, Viral, Slash Status are all useful in a pretty wide number of situations. it's something else your Weapon can bring to the table but it doesn't mean your Weapon has to have that to be effective.

if you want to use either Boltor, go nuts. if you want to use Attica, go nuts. if you want to use Braton, go nuts.

OK, I'll just keep using my Attica for those Grineer Assassination Sorties with Enemy Elemental Enhancement, then. 🙂 Saves me from having to trade with somebody. I can't go wrong with a high DPS and good ammo economy, especially when I'm up against a boss.

    TY for helping me.
