That's assuming Albrecht's wife was even alive, given the literal cutthroat nature of trying to invent things in the Orokin empire

(And before you ask, the NPC named "Grandmother" was Albrecht's in-law)

I'm aware she's an in-law. I can't find any reference to his wife. Don't really know her fate or even name.

There is on the Moon path

Between the old and new lore, I get the impression Albrecht was coming down with either depression or PTSD. He was either shutting out or lashing out at Loid -- he had enough self-awareness to recognize it, and in doing so didn't dare use Wally as a justification. His problems were still hurting Loid and all he could do was own up to it

Judging from the "Aftermath" Fragments he is quoted by saying:

"If I must be a demon, let me be an honest one. Let me prove my nature by what I do next"

A big part if his lore is his confusion regarding whether or it was him or TMITW that escaped. Which has me thinking if it's Albrecht: He's just following his "agreement" or it's TMITW that Loids been dealing with the whole time.

Either way, he's Orokin. And we know that they will manipulate anyone to ultimately fulfill the goals they have. Loid is manipulated. I also have the impression that due to this: Loid might be someone we can't trust.

Because if we have to take Albrecht out: He probably will get in the middle or stab us in the back.

I don't think he did, though? Wasn't there a line in there about Albrecht not appreciating Loid when he had the chance, or not acknowledging his (Loid's) feelings?

Seemed like an unhealthy dynamic that they had going on. The feeling I got is that Albrecht used Loid's infatuation with him as leverage to get what he wanted out of the man - up to and including getting Loid to send him to the shadow realm 1999. And it also seemed like Loid was aware of the manipulation, but was too trapped by his dependency on Albrecht to walk away. Hence the duality of his frustration/anger and longing. In the end, all this time later, he's still in the palm of Albrecht's hand, and he knows it.

That's how it came across to me, anyway.

The whole dynamic of the Entrati Family is unhealthy. It all starts with him and TMITW.

The vessels at the end is a bit in the nose. But whether or not that was for love or for manipulation well probably find out in WF1999.

The whole thing is toxic, and I think that's the point. Albrecht wasn't ever going to be a good guy, and was morally ambiguous in the first place.

The whole arc of the Entrati's starts with Albrecht abandoning them. And TMITW is right in the middle of all it.

  3. I loved the Quest, the lore. The whole experience.

This update was adding a new tileset, new items to farm and new things to do. Very similar to Angel's of Zariman.

Quest was an hour long, and is the launch point of where we moving forward from here. Warframe 1999 is going to be the next Cinematic Quest.

Whispers wasn't. Great Quest for the length that it was.

It's definitely love, maybe like a family member "I love you son I'm proud of you" or romantic "I love you let's kiss". I can see either of these working, you pick which one you like the most

It's definitely not that...they referred to each other in a possessive manner.

It be kinda weird for your Dad to go "my C11H22011"

The thing is none of this condratics anything from the Heart of Deimos Lore.

It could be a or the reason why the family was as busted as it was: Grampa left Grandma for his assistant.

If anything it makes an Immortal Orokin family more....mortal, kinda a nice touch. Also, I have a feeling Loid might stab us in the back in the future because Love makes people do things.

  5. It would be nice to see more Umbra frames in a limited number, like the release roster of the game.

Maybe add Frost since he was the first Prime that non-founders could get too. That would be a very solid list of frames.

But I think the reason why they won't do anymore is: They don't want to do the entire roster.

If they say they're going to do 9, then they'll get asked "why not this frame, or that frame"

It could also risk PAs, why buy a Prime when the next Umbra comes out?

It's just a can of worms they don't want to open.

Im all up for this cross save but why in the world would they make Excalibur Prime PC exclusive and you cant use him on PS5 for example. How do yall feel about that.

Probably due to DE having a conversation in a boardroom between Microsoft and Sony.

I'm sure they wanted to include them but it's probably due to wanting to avoid a conversation about it, if you know what I mean.

if by style you mean "boring repeatable mission" much like kahl is rn then yeah I hope it's just for the quest and not how we're gonna be farming WF1999 content. that'd be a huge letdown

The vibe I'm getting is its likely going to be comparable to The New War: A dedicated cinematic quest that's multi hour.

They've got Neil Newborn and Ben Starr attached, they're swinging for the fences on this one.

That's still effectively 2025 my guy, doesn't change what I said. If you don't see that it's just going to be the same style of play as things like Veilbreaker and Duviri, then you are outright blind or intentionally ignoring what is plain to see.

    Blind?

You might wanna rewatch the trailer and return to this conversation.

    "Coming 2024"

If it's out in December: it's still 2024.

W1999 isn't coming until 2025? I thought it was part of WitW, a side mode like Veilbreaker? Good god, an entire expansion based around the horridly slow "normal person" controls... What are DE smoking?

It's likely going to be the last update of 2024 like Whispers in the Wall.

I didn't see anything slow about WF1999 considering your playing Arthur that's wearing an Excal Suit (or is basically turning into Excalibur)

    Let em cook.

    1. No.

    2. Yes... don't see what it has to do with this discussion, though.

    3. No. Why would we give up on Warframe?  Why would you even ask this?

    4. The game is NAMED "Warframe".  It's been explained countless times in this thread, not to mention all throughout the forums, exactly why they keep producing new frames...  Mainly to keep feeding the Prime Access program, which is essential to keep the game going.

    5. "For the money!"   *sarcastic gasp goes here*  Money?  A business that does things to make money?  What ABSURDITY is THIS!?

Seriously, though... DE is a BUSINESS. It EXISTS to make money.  That's not some "evil" purpose... it's literally the POINT of a business.  They aren't a charity, after all.

Moreover, they aren't just 5 people on a couch, either...  DE consists over over 300 EMPLOYEES...  Employees DEPEND on their job to FEED THEIR FAMILIES, to PAY RENT, to keep their CARS going, and so on....

DE charges the unbelievably expensive price of $0 to for you to PLAY Warframe...  Zero cost.  No Subscription. No Battle Pass Cost. No fee to even DOWNLOAD the game. No DLC costs.  Nothin'!

They rely ENTIRELY on what essentially amounts to donations for art you like... or for peeps to skip waiting on stuff.  That's it, really.

They stop doing that, how the heck do you expect them to pay those 300+ employees?

I REALLY don't think a lot of peeps on these forums understand what a business is, or how it operates.

I mean, if we lived in a world where Devs could just make games they love and not have to worry about expenses of living, that'd be great!  Sadly, ain't how things currently run.

Really startin' to think this thread is just a comment farm or somethin'....  like, why keep reviving it when the topic's been answered/replied to well enough?

At the end of the day: You can't fix stupid. I mean you can try but your not going to.

  11. I'm actually more curious if "Tenno will have multiple meaning moving forward.

Tenno comes from 10-0, as in Zariman 10-0 in warframe right now. Dark Sector, the game has only had sprinkles of references and hasn't been really thought of as "offical canon" is about to play more of a role post WITW with WF1999.

Warframe 1999 appears to be changing that.

We could have The Tenno that we've known for the past 10 years and then "Tenno" that have a Hayden Tenno connection. Given that we have either a Time Travel or Multi-verse occurring very soon.

    They could.

I also distinctly remember how well that went, and I don't doubt Rebb who was the community manager in the firing line at the time remembers as well.

    So probably not.

It's a different situation then Empyrean. The #1 issue was that the TGAs was hosted at a later date, where DE basically launched the update and then the studio went off for Holidays basically after they made the keystrokes.

That hasn't happened since. Plus given the scope of this update, arguably the biggest and most important in the games history laughing it on TGA gives them 2 things:

    1) Publicity

    2) More time to hotfix before they leave for the holidays.

They'd have at least 2 weeks of time to fix any major issues before then. Which makes a ton of sense to have with rolling out Cross-Progression.

Plus if it goes well then it's kinda a redemption arc for them. It makes a ton of sense to do it.

If DE needs money, bring out Excalibur prime in dollars, but no founder glyphs. You've got to let the original players have their say. And thanks again for all your comments.

How many more times do they have to say its not happening and explain why?

It's not like a Prime Warframe dosent come out every 3 months or anything right?

    Oh......waaaaait.

Here's a piece of advice when it comes to Excal Prime:

given how Empyrean's launch went, I really, REALLY hope you're wrong.

You'd rather the update launch later in the month? With less time to hotfix before Christmas break?

If it goes live on the 7th you've got about 17 days before holidays to do these things.

So I'd be hoping for the 7th, because if it's anything like Empyrean (probably wont, the last few updates have been pretty solid), they'll need those days to do the work.

Yep, my guess too. Also I want to mention that Reb said something during the devstream that can or cannot be a potential spoiler when the update will launch, that being during TGA.

I mean thats also where I'm getting my guess from. But the fact that Warframe is the official drop for the whole event is a big indicator as well.

It's not the first time they've released a major update live on this stage and this is a very important, likely the most important update in Warframes history.

Doing it live with everyone's eyes on them like potentially new, returning players and also peers in the industry makes a ton of sense.
