  1. Also wanted to report, the electric arcs do not reliably apply status.  After further testing, this mod does not seem to interact in any way with the weapon stats or mods.  100% status chance has no effect on the probability of applying status.  100% increase in status duration has no increase in the duration of status applied via Static Discharge.  Prova vs Prova Vandal, Static Discharge has the same rate of status chance.

DE please, it has been years.  Please someone just look at this mod.  If it is working as intended at least tell us.  At the very least.

  2. Okay, so I updated the abilities a little bit.  I changed Armor Break to be physics impact instead of armor piercing because I wanted to still be able to gain some sort of benefit when fighting Infested (meaning light Infested have a 50% AP resistance).  Also, I really liked the idea of having Ammo Reserves refill the ammo in your current clip as well as overall ammo.  Credit for that goes to Lactamid.

  3. Did you not read after the red text? He said "solo%&^." He may not have singled out an individual but he did insult a group of players. What is also ridiculous is how you got your panties all in a wad over a childish post.

He made a generalized comment that was not directed towards anyone and was even said jokingly.  And I didn't get my panties all in a wad.  I made a post calling him out and was going to leave it at that, but then you had to go and say something else.

  4. He evidently didn't read your post very well.

I did read his post.  And he was being just as childish as the other guy.  Not to mention hypocritical.  At least the other didn't cus.  Or even single out one individual.  He made a random, generalized comment.  And to get your panties all in a wad over it is ridiculous.

  5. Then why do they have the "SOLO" mode in the game in the first place for, then?

This is such a bad argument.  There are crappy mods and weapons that aren't "viable".  So why are they in the game?  To give you the CHOICE of using them.  You can still choose to play solo.  My argument to counter this idiotic rant is this:  DE should just remove the solo function of events.  There, would you be happy then?

Why can't you understand that DE doesn't want people soloing the whole game?

When exactly in the Livestream did they say this?

  6. To each their own.

You like to group up, hey, so do lots of others.

But yet there are lots of people who enjoy solo. Why punish them? What good does that do you, or DE?

Why can't the soloers enjoy their solo game while you enjoy your multiplayer game? It doesn't hurt you in the slightest.

Because it goes against DE's view of the game.  They want others to play as a group.  That's the basis for the game.  Why can't you just team up with a group?

  7. Ah, I was referring to events, specifically; where solo hasn't been reasonably viable for a while now.  I know that solo eventually works for most of the game except the higher end/defence missions (the ones that actually matter), once you've got the gear and wits.

Okay, I see now.  But still.  The events are designed to bring the community together.  That was the main draw to them (from DE's perspective).  They said multiple times how much they loved how everyone came together and joined forces to play the events.  Making the events easier for soloers would defeat the purpose of having events!  This games is first-and-foremost cooperative.  That will not and should not change.  I honestly don't understand the draw to soloing content.  Seriously.  I have soloed before (admittedly missions, not events), and it just isn't as fun as playing with a group.  It's just like on Xbox.  I hate playing Halo or CoD or any other game by myself.  Cutting up and playing with other people makes it so much more enjoyable.  And is it really that hard to find someone to play with in this game?

  8. While I can't speak for everybody, I know that more than a few soloers like myself aren't asking that solo be as easy as coop.  All we want is for it to be viable, to not have to do eight times the amount of work a coop player would have to do for the same results.

Solo is viable.  For everything but maybe high level Defense and Mobile Defense missions.  That's like 98% of the content that is soloable.  And look at it this way.  The missions are they same for everybody.  Why should they change depending on how many people there are?

  9. Reported.

Your little comment that you insisted on putting above that picture of yours was childish and uncalled for. Lots of people play solo. Calling us names for playing solo is pretty hateful. I hope the admins deal with your sh*t talk appropriately.

    Reported.

You complain about him calling you names and being hateful, then you go and do the same thing right back?  Now THAT is childish.

Back on topic.  This IS a cooperative driven game.  That is one of the main selling points.  Complaining about the bad networking has little to nothing to do with the actual topic!  Now, I have read a few posts about bad lag, and sure, lag happens, but certainly not nearly as bad as you are claiming.  I live out in the freaking STICKS man.  Seriously.  My bandwidth is 3mbps.  3!  For a household of 4 people who are constantly on the internet.  I rarely get games that are so bad I can't play.  And as for NAT issues, its stupidly easy to fix!  Spend a couple of hours googling it and bam, problem solved.

The reason you should be "punished" for soloing is pretty simple.  If it was just as easy to solo as it was to PuG, then nobody would PuG!  And that defeats the entire purpose of the game!

  10. Yes, this game is co-op. But they put solo in and now they have to deal with it. If an event is not considered plausible by the devs and they're not willing to make solo viable then at the very least advise people of that.

Just saying it's co-op is not enough. We know it's co-op. It also has solo.

It also has crap weapons and mods.  It's your job to realize that they are bad, just like it's your job to realize solo isn't a plausible approach to the game.

  11. Excalibur + Braton

    No powers or mods

    Final Destination map

    Best of 5

Yep.  This is really the only way to balance PvP in Warframe.  Maybe not necessarily just this combination, but having the duelers use the same equipment is pretty much the best way of going about it.

  12. The ammo skill might need to be a bit less if it's 25 energy (first ability). not sure though considdering the mods/auras there are form ammo returns.

Would cause a massive camping wave though, people sitting in hard to reach areas never comming down.

    Edit: limited range?

I could also see this skill having a secondary use: auto reloading weapon (instantly).

If by limited range you mean it won't affect teammates across the map, then yes.  All abilities will only be able to affect allies within a certain range.  Maybe I should specify this?

Edit:  Specified range limits and added a bit to the Bubble Shield description so people didn't think it was just a Snow Globe rip-off.

  13.    This 'Frame focuses on doing damage through the use of weapons, as opposed to abilities, unlike most 'Frames, which is something I feel is missing from the game.  This 'Frame would not only increase the usefulness of it's weapons by using abilities that restore amounts of ammunition, but also give weapons special characteristics, such as Physics Impact Damage, and even boost base damage.  Also, because of it's tendency to stay away from direct conflict, this 'Frame would also possess a means to protect itself if the fighting were to get too close.  And, since this 'Frame would need a team to be viable for more difficult missions, most of it's abilities would also apply to those around it, giving this 'Frame a nice balance between supportive and offensive rolls.  As I stated before, I believe the game absolutely needs something of this nature, because there are no 'Frames with this kind of functionality currently in the game.

Now, let's try to flesh out some of the details.  I imagine this Warframe to have a low armor rating but a decent shield capacity.  Average speed with a high energy pool.  Hopefully this seems balanced.  For those number and stat oriented people:

    Health:                   75   (225.0 at Rank 30)

    Power:                   150 (225.0 at Rank 30)

    Armor:                   50.0

    Shield Capacity:    150 (450.0 at Rank 30)

Now, let's talk about abilities, my favorite part.  I designed this Warframe around the concept of doing damage through the use of your weapons, as opposed to the current system of spamming ult and watching things die.  Having a Warframe like with abilities like this would also guarantee that his abilities will scale well with higher level content.  This will also make high ammo consumption weapons more viable for long lasting defense waves.  Any and all feedback is welcome, but let's try and keep it constructive.  We'll go in order, from 1-4:

Ammo Reserves:  Adds a percentage of ammunition back into you and your ally's overall ammo supply (not just the ammo in the clip).  Also acts as an instant reload on cast.  20%/30%/40%/50% (Edit:  Will only affect teammates within 15 meters)

Armor Break:  Takes a base percentage of you and your ally's damage and converts it into Physics Impact damage. 45%/55%/65%/75% (i.e. at max level 75% of your damage will be calculated as Physics Impact damage, the rest will be calculated normally), for a set time period (5s/10s/15s/20s).  (Edit:  Will only affect teammates within 15 meters)

Bubble Shield:  Depletes the player's shields and projects a small (meaning it only encompasses the caster) spherical "bubble shield" around the player that follows you wherever you go (Player's shields can regenerate).  Negates all incoming damage and depletes all outgoing damage by 40%/30%/20%/10% for a duration of 6s/8s/10s/12s. (Protects against disrupting and toxic damage)

Power Surge:  Upon activation all weapons (including ally's weapons) will deal 70%/80%/90%/100% extra damage as well as earning a 20%/30%/40%/50% increase in fire-rate for a duration of 15s/20s/25s/30s.   (Edit:  Will only affect teammates within 20 meters)

Now, let me try and justify some of these skills.  I think it is pretty obvious I am trying to work a good bit of support into this 'Frame.  Seeing as how it deals no direct damage through his skills taking on higher level missions will be very difficult, and wouldn't be much of an addition (in fact might even be considered a hindrance) if his skills didn't apply to his teammates.  I think the 1st and 2nd abilities aren't so bad so I'll start with his #3.  I know when people see 100% damage mitigation they tend to cringe, but I think I did a pretty good job of balancing out his damage mitigation.  Doesn't last super long, comes at a loss to his shields and it lessens outgoing damage.  And it ain't exactly cheap either.  His #4 seems a bit strange with a boost to both damage and fire-rate, but when you compare it to something like Nova's Molecular Prime (100% damage boost, significant slow-down effect, a long duration, plus exploding on death) this skill is pretty balanced (even taking into account the nerf that is most likely coming to Nova).  Anyway, let me know what you guys think.  I can't even express how badly I want something like this in the game.  I am so bored with the current approach to abilities.

Edit:  Edited the Bubble Shield ability a bit to specify that the ability is mobile, not stationary.  And specified range limits to skills.

Edit2:  Changed the Armor Break ability to give Physics Impact instead of Armor Piercing damage and edited the explanation of Ammo Reserves to specify that it adds to overall ammo supply, not just what is in the clip.

  14. Not in the way you were lamenting about. And I use the term tiered loosely, meaning there are weapons that are far better than others. Try and think outside the box before you pose arguments and questions that are so narrow in scope they don't seem to actually address the OP, or are addressed in the post. This is some common sense stuff to figure out dude, I'm not sure why you monitor the forums.

DE has said they want weapons that are nooby, and weapons that are super good, so players can switch off as they get "better".

-You negatively impact the post by making it about your concerns that you don't understand the topic fully.

Its not my fault if you don't know what "tiered" means.  To get back on topic.  Obviously there are weapons that are better than others.  That's just how a game is.  And where has DE said "they want weapons that are nooby, and weapons that are super good"?  All weapons are pretty much viable up to a point.  That point being lvl 100 mobs.  And DE is hoping to fix this issue with the new damage/armor system.  If your concern is that some weapons are better than others, than I have this to say:  Why do you want the same weapon re-skinned a dozen times?

There, you see how i responded POLITELY and COURTEOUSLY?  You might want to look into it.  It'll make you seem like less of a Jerk.

  15. First of all, you DO mention mastery in your post.  Sorry if that is not what you want to get rid of, just saying, you do mention it.  My point is that there is NO tiered weapon system.  Not really.  Sure, you have weapons that are better than others, but they are all accessible straight from the get-go.  It isn't really "tiered".  The only form of "weapon tiers" in Warframe is the Mastery Rank system, but all rank locked weapons aren't necessarily better than the rest.  Are you saying that there is no tier system, and you don't want one?  Or are you saying there is a tier system, and you want it gone?

  16. There isn't much of a tiered weapon system in Warframe.  Not if you ask me.  Sure, there are a few rank locked weapons, but those weapons aren't inherently better than all the rest.  Except maybe the Acrid.  Personally, I would like more of a tiered system.  A weapon that costs 10 neurodes and 8000 ferrite should be freaking awesome.  Just like a weapon that is rank locked at Mastery Rank 10 should blow you away.  Otherwise what is the point of getting it?
