  1. ON a mission on Uranus, was transitioning between room tilesets. Many of my squadmates were ahead of me in capture mission, I was following suit when the doors shut on me and would not reopen. Regardless being indicated in green, the automatic door would not open on any side of that room and I was stuck there til mission end.

  2. Seconding this, except once I'm in game my entire configuration has gone out the window, more than half the buttons do nothing and the steam button, start, Y, and right bumper are mapped to "ESC" or the menu. I can still move, look and jump, but jump is mapped to B instead of A. Keyboard and Mouse work fine, as does X-Box controller, but no longer the steam controller, and I used to REALLY ENJOY playing Warframe with the Steam Controller.

  3. I can second this, had to quit nearly EVERY defection mission I've started because the Kavor wouldn't move after giving them the move out signal. They'd just stay and huddle around the medbooster until it drains and they die shortly after. There's nothing you can do in game to coax them to get moving.

Makes farming for Harrow EXCEEDINGLY Difficult.

I didn't catch this contest until yesterday, so I had to rush this out to make it in time. This is not my finest work, in fact I'm almost embarrassed to put this out, but hey, maybe someone out there likes it.

The theme of this trailer is Evolution, as it shows both the evolution of a player during their lifetime within Warframe, as well as the evolution of Warframe itself, from it's conceptual beginning as DarkSector, and it's actual humble beginnings in the Corpus Ship tileset, all the way to Plains of Eidolon today.

Not to mention the game is running on the "Evolution" Engine!

  6. Competition is HEATING UP! Best toss in my... Sizzle Reel...

Thanks to a lot of feedback from these forums and from Reddit, I've finally tweaked my entry to completion. This version is upscaled to 1440p for a better viewing experience to combat YouTube's bit-crushing compression. May the best Tenno win!

  7. Themed this more as a planet hopping, system wide adventure rather than a super-serial space shooter. Mainly was aiming for a clean and tidy, easy to follow edit, ESPECIALLY for people unfamiliar with the game.

Regardless, still looking for feedback on this edit!

Do I have to capture all the images for the trailer from the game or can I take some pieces from the previous trailers and cinematics that warframe has done? Is it obligatory to use the fraps program or can I use any other?

    Thanks!

FRAPS is okay, the quality is great but the file sizes are unwieldy; a few minutes of footage easily go over 4GB which later splits into a new file to write to while still recording. A bit nightmare-ish to organize, categorize and edit.

I've used Shadowplay (comes with Nvidia Geforce Experience), but made sure to set the quality as high as my Hard Drives are able to write at (For example, my footage HDD write speed is about 85 MB/s, so I set the video quality to right about 80 MB/s.)

I'm wondering this as well. I'm about 95% complete with my short edit, but I'm not sure if the letterbox style aspect ratio is allowed either. I see that other's have done it for their entries, so I suppose so?

Just don't assume that others have done so that they read the rules correctly, best to keep the aspect ratio at 16:9

    TEXT AND LOGOS:

A good reason for not using text is to allow DE flexibility. Considering that you added text, DE won't be able to remove such text or change the language if they are broadcasting internationally (unless they obtain your raw footage and data). If they wanted to add text, they would after they declared who won.

Some videos included the "DE" logo or branding. I really suggest that you do not do this as this may cause a misunderstanding. The video is not created by DE, and i don't think DE wants their audience to think that way either. Don't add the warframe logo at the end, it is very likely the DE will add it themselves. Use your 25 seconds wisely.

    GENERAL ADVICE:

Content wise: This is a trailer, do you know what's a trailer's purpose? It is to peak an interest especially to new audience, not existing players.

    POLITICAL AND COMPETITION ARGUMENTS:

I have been reading on some people being pissed at DE for country restriction and the unfair nature of the competition. DE is not to be held responsible for your country laws, DE is a game developer company, not an international government. If you want to know why you are not included, do a google search or ask your government.

As of the "unfair advantage" argument, no competition is ever fair. Do your best with what you have.

You hit the nail right on the head there!

It can be assumed that the 25 second timelimit is to give DE 5 seconds of end cards to toss in, the lack of text and dialogue in your video also give DE the freedom for DE to supplement in any dialogue or text they please.

To add to the General Advice there are a few extra tips on crafting trailers that most entries could benefit from. I've seen some entries utilize visual-audio synchronization to match the actions and edits of the video to the beat of the audio and vice versa, that helps sell a trailer (see any recent movie or game trailer within the past couple of years), secondly, a trickier tip to master is to always be aware of where your audience's eyes are looking at and guiding those eyes where they need to go. If some action is happening in frame right, you don't want to suddenly cut to a shot with action in frame left.

My contest submission, i hope i'm doing this right....

I'm really curious how you pulled this off, this seems far to sophisticated for captura, unless you animated this by hand?

Or more accurately has this entry broken the rules and used footage from one of DE's other promotional videos?

  12. ATTENTION ALL TENNO LOOKING FOR FREE VIDEO EDITING SOFTWARE FOR CONTEST PARTICIPATION

Been seeing a lot of posts here seeing a lot of people asking where to get some decent software for video editing, here are my top suggestions:

Hitfilm Express - it's a blend of both video editing software with a visual effects editor

DaVinci Resolve - by BlackMagic Design, a powerful video editing software with outstanding color correction and grading tools

    Hey, can we use sfm?

@[DE]Megan This brings up some very valid questions, does all the footage need to be strictly in-game & in-engine, or can we supplement our entries with VFX, Color Correction, Sound Effects, Instrumental Cues to Transition between Warframe Soundtrack clips like hits and risers; not to mention for those 3D modelers and animators out there looking at this contest on whether they can animate and render custom shots to edit in their submissions?
