  1. and look i know that DE has made this game unbelieveably grindy. but again i remember players going "don't go focusing on only getting this specific drop just run it and you will get it when you get it." so. why say that, when people are just using nukes and other speedy methods to run the same mission over and over and over again just to get the items or reasorces that i was stressing over getting? where is the just enjoy the game while doing it when your speed running the mission or bounty?

My friend, this is what happens in every game. Warframe has a large player base and it's a grind-based game, of course there's going to be meta tactics. Out of hundreds of weapons, over 50 frames, and all the rest, there's going to be more and more cases where the most powerful in a class exists.

It's completely normal, expected, and DE do often make changes to fix any prevalent meta that will occur.

You're not wrong, that DE have no reason to introduce changes to K-drives specifically because the player base doesn't use them. That is an accurate description of how DE works.

But you can't actually blame them for the Archwing situation. DE established Archwing in the open landscapes on inception, and K-drives didn't exist for more than a year after that. What we were actually supposed to get was a 'rover' style of vehicle that would allow us to travel along the roadways (DE even showed a tech demo of it trying to go across the terrain).

One of the, if not the second-biggest, barrier to change in the game isn't actually the players. They may scream 'nerf', or that they don't want the change, but that has never stopped DE from changing something. No, what usually stops a change is DE realising there's a bigger issue at stake, one that they have to address before they can implement the original change.

Archwing changes and Modular Archwing? Bigger problem. What they want to do is change up Space Combat entirely. They want to make all Archwing missions (apart from Sharkwing) be part of a broader Railjack system. Where, similar to the introduction of regular missions into Corpus Railjack, it's fairly certain that they want to transition Archwing missions from the Railjack base too.

On top of that, there's some key problems with the Archwing system beyond its integration with Railjack, so they're probably going to work on a much larger, systemic change to the whole thing.

    If anything...

Warframe's updates have a serious problem of feature creep ^^

    So...

To bring this back on topic. We wouldn't need to nerf Archwings at all if DE were to make the changes necessary to K-Drive for a more fleshed out and applicable system.

Yareli is a prototype of the in-mission K-Drive, and it can work, it just has some problems. These include geometry interruptions, movement being too violent compared to Warframe mobility, and the lack of options with things like weapons and abilities.

If DE were to go to the effort they have with Archwing, where you have specific things that a K-Drive can do that are equivalent, but not equal, to a Warframe? If they offer a trade-off on speed over large distance compared to raw damage and affect? Yeah, I think that buffing K-Drives and their base functions would genuinely make them more viable and even something that can be used everywhere.

Bringing up what K-drives can do to make it worth jumping on one, to make it worth fully modding one, would rival Archwings. Sure we wouldn't be able to Blink across large areas, or go in a straight line from A to B, but players would have that more tactile and meaningful usage for when they actually engage with the system.

ok lets be honest. i do not think k-drives need to buff raw damage. lets be honest that would just further the power creep in a direct way. the best way for k-drive is to make it more agile. give it the ability to backflip, somersault, side flips. maybe have the maneuvers do damage. make it so your actually styling on factions. it doesn't need to work in tilesets. it just needs to fit in the open worlds better. maybe even give the boards a built in rolling guard. or at least a rolling guard variant. possibly including said maneuvers i previously mentioned into something like a roll.  i would suggest maybe including melee combos and maybe have your melee weapon be treated as a stat stick or something but that would remove the ease of use dismount. eh, oh well. the archguns don't unequip when you press the melee button.

and honestly the one reason why i was getting irked before with what you said is because i constantly hear that stuff all the time. i tried fallowing the meta, look up decent builds and what was going on to be useful. but i gotten more and more miserable with each day i tried following that crap. so i just choosed to ignore that crap and just play by myself. only dabbling with meta when i feel like i should do it. like the "secret boss" in the albercht labs assassination steel path, even though its not an secret boss anymore. just an optional. anyways the inferior to this and that bit has been said a lot, and has been done a lot to the point were it gets tiring to see a fresh new weapon get things like "not as good as the kuva bramma, or the phenmor , or the laetum, or. you get the idea. its a broken reccord that players spit out even when DE tries to do something new. which is odd since people often become really noisy when something is unoriginal. its kind of funny. people want new, but can't be bothered going out the rut they have made themselves.

i bet most players picked up euphona prime and then imediately dropped it because it couldn't nuke a room.

    I understand the frustration.

There is, however, an essential problem that K-drives have, and always have had: They aren't Archwings. The fact that you get an Archwing in the same locations as K-Drives, is a genuine flaw of how DE released the different updates and parts of the game, and it can't be helped.

The issue being that, not only are Archwings superior for travelling long distances, they are also fully equipped with their own Abilities, your own modding and your own Primary and Secondary weapons. They do not need Syndicate standing to increase, and have their own dedicated modes to play on that can help with levelling and acquiring mods.

K-drives have none of these advantages, and are genuinely disappointing by comparison.

    The quality-of-life improvements would help.

    However.

K-drive needs some fundamental lift in functionality, at base, before they even start to become relevant.

Hell, the simple reason why Yareli's Merulina doesn't use K-drive mods is because there's only one that would even do anything for in-mission Warframe game play, and even then it's an optional one.

They don't do anything. That's why nobody cares.

i already got my gripes about k drives away. but this right here is the problem warframe has. warframe introduces so many neat ideas and stuff. and then players cherry pick the stuff that they think are good and then chuck the rest in the trash. its kind of irritating. because lets be honest DE is never going to introduce any K drive quality of life improvements if no one cares about it. its just going to rot away, just like that promised rework of archwing. seriously. how long has it been since DE said they were or  might rework archwings into modular stuff? was there a backlash or something?

and to be honest. having archwing in the open maps and be easily aquireable is a terrible idea. i have heard so many players from other mmos go "oh flying is an aweful idea! you can't enjoy the devs hard work if you flying to objective to objective so on and so forth. or can't interact with everything." to be honest i hate those excuses and such. but they do apply here. archwings are too easy to aquire now. honestly the arching calling items should of just be a consumeable like before. but due to player backlash it has infinit uses.

sure. it may be bad to nerf archwing uses in the open maps. but its not like anyones going to suddenly do quality of life improvements for k drive. they would need to do something a kin to hydroid or more for people to start using them more. and thats not realistic.

now that i think about it. some of the problems DE has involves with DE listening to players too much. its a double edged blade basically.

so yeah. because of your responce i am in full "nerf" archwing uses. its only used because of impatient players wanting to get from point a to point b as fast as possible when they already can move fast as possible. in fact the only reason why archwing got so much uses was because the itzal was pulling the weight with its teleport before DE ripped that ability off the itzal and put a nerfed version on all archwings. to be honest the archwings abilities barely have any uses in the open maps and people also rarely go to the archwings missions at all. again the only reason why archwings got any use before was because of that teleport ability the itzal had. so archwings are just being used as glorified fast travels. which we have now technically. so wouldn't that harm the uses of archwing also?

i seriously have so much pent up frustration watching this whole thing go everywere. everyone complaining about stuff. too easy! remove knockback! object a is inferior to object b. so on and so forth i am just tired of this stuff. not going to quiet warframe. i might just quiet the forums.

  4. this forum post has been out for pratically 2 months and i can count the other people in this post besides myself that was bothered enough to talk about k drive related stuff on a single hand.

  5. also i have been waiting for 5 days. 5. days. for the infested k drive race "pride before the fall" race that would give me the steeba part for the infested k drive. and it has not spawned. the wiki says the k drive races are based on daily standing daily reset. but again. i haven't seen it. at all. i have looked up the location were it is as. which k drive race drops it. everything. and all that.

also the grinding in cambion drive is not working at all. i would randomly fly off the grind rails in the cambion drive. it feels like the quality of k drive gameplay is quickly deterorating. probably because not enough people care enough to even touch k drive. all they do is fly all over the open world maps with the dam archwing.

  6. this seems nice to talk about. the idea i  would throw around is making augments part of the subsuming system. lets say, we turn the augment mods into a augment recipe and then feed to the helminth. as for how it would work. i do not know for sure how it would work. all i know is that helminth gives us subsume abilities, and install shards onto our frame. so why not allow the helminth to take control of augmenting?

  7. well this is a feedback i feel like some people would of mentioned before. but i would like to bring up the constant back handed remarks when you lets say fire a bazooka into a group of enemies and there is unfortunately a lets say. one of those rodent things in the middle of the pack. well a predasite or a vulpaphyla in the middle of the group and someone constantly back talks to you about murking it when you didn't even see it in there. can't really fly around with the itzal and farm those caches either because you could accedentally hit a critter and again the back talking comes in congradulating on the killing. can we at least have the "great you blew it!" happen when you are actively hunting them at least?

Maybe because they don't "exactly" fit? English is my 2nd language so there will be some differences. I've checked google.

    Crown:

For me Signas don't look like crowns.

First their shape is not full circle. It reminds me of Julius Caesar. Searching doesn't show any distinction in appearance. There are only Coronet that were used for someone less than King/Queen/the-highest-person but no words on  appearance. Julius' wear Civic crown which were based on Chaplet. Both words are not known by average player... I guess.

Secondly they are floating. Sure, it's sci-fi or fantasy setting but it still separates it from crown "worn" on head. It's more like Halo. There is "circle" in religious believes. However I've found recently usage of halo in some broader terms in game Blue archive (I've not played it myself).

    Cape:

    From Cambridge

And we have some many different "stuff" at our back. That doesn't sounds like cape.

    Aura:

Same as above - there are many "stuff" like dragons, waveform, normal clothes etc.

well i looked at some of the meanings of the words they use and ephemera has a meaning of "things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time." signa as far as i know is just something to do with signatures.  and syandana just mean flowing in a diffrent language. i do not think a jetpack "flows".

i didn't really do a deep search for the meanings. but thats what i got and i still do not understand why they choosed those names other then that they sounded pretty.

as for why i suggested. i just suggested those words because those are the words i am most familiar with that could be used in a setting like this. could of said halo instead of crown. but i am not sure how people would feel about that. but yeah far. i just rather not google some of these words each and every time till it sticks in my brain. it is not easy trying to remember things like syandana, ephemera, and albercht every day. signa maybe since is a nice and short word. and i do not dare trying to say entrati without googling it.

at least i can just call some of the cavia characters fishy, tag, and bird 3. bird 3 is the most easiest to remember because its just bird and 3.

  9. this is a little bit late. but i can't help but feel a little bit annoyed each time DE digs through a thesaurus or what ever to make the most fanciest sounding name but a pain to type and remember how to spell. albrecht was the most recent reminder of my slight annoyance with this theme. but ephemera and syandana was the earliest of my issues. its not really a very important or even a big annoyance. but it really gets hard to remember these things. its almost like i am back in school with teachers trying to cram every world letter or name under the sun into my skull.

i am surprised attachments isn't some weird name or helmet or skin.

my point is. why couldn't it be cape, aura, and crown? why not use familiar names? through out my experience through school, ephemera, syandana, and signa hasn't ever even been mentioned.

this is just a slight complaint and i am fine if everyone just ignores it. just have to get it out of my system. sorry for having a problem with it.

  10. this seems a bit weird. but since getting some of the lunar new year stuff in the market right now. it sort of bugs me that dual swords lunaeus skin can't be used on the nepheri even though both the nepheri and the dual ichor look dang near the same size. if not with nepheri looking taller then the dual ichor.  so if they share the same size. then whats the diffrence between daggers and swords?

  11. ah. ok thank you for the refresher. kind of forgot that. or at least thought de caught up on the prime trailers. was in a funk were i thought because of chromas specific situation that DE really didn't care for him for a paticular reason or another. namely the reason why i thought of it was vex armor doing most of the heavy lifting while everything is considered either meh or ok.

  12. oh wait. i could start of with an easy one. they reworked hydroid for the better.  you know the one that people have wanted for a while now. that one frame that is older the umbra. they just did that and this whole thread just came up? and the pets rework. 2 things that have been asked for a lot. yet some of you guys are acting like they are refusing to do any bug fixes.

also there is that cross save thing thats taking a lot of time and energy. someone did mention that in here but i bet everyone just choosed to ignore that one.

you know that cross save gimmick that everyone has been rather persistant in reminding de about. that thing that i see get spammed a lot in their dev streams.

  13. you know. i suddenly remember some people that says the warframe community is one of the best communitys. funny. i mean someone says something is too much work, and then they get demonized for saying they can't fix a bug that person wanted the dev to fix?

funny how this whole thing has been almost focused exclusively on a bug that involves umbra. except for something about a glaive bug. is that all?

so why don't we focus on what DE did fix in warframe why don't we? i mean some of you say that warframe is the best community. are ya?

i mean a probably exausted dev said 1 thing might not be possible and some of ya are already bringing out the pitch forks for crying out loud.

anyways the hotfixes are right in the updates part of these forms. go look at those fixed bugs and then just look at these 2 bugs that were focused. because why should i waste any more time?

  14. oh wow. thanks. and yeah flying and shooting lasers sound like a good idea. and the spirit bomb idea is neat. some of the recent stuff and revitalization of this chat kind of makes me want to go full into the sorceror dragon gimmick. with possibly a grimore or heavily modified staff as exaulted weapon. or bouth a grimore and staff.

1st, 2nd, or 3rd ability: void burst (breath): you basically fire a void laser as a breath attack. eye of the storm buff: ???

1st, 2nd, or 3rd ability: void barrier: in short i am just putting this idea out as a method for keeping it alive maybe some kind of over guard or something.  eye of the storm: ???

1st, 2nd, or 3rd: void gate: basically the frame rips a manageable hole in the void and dealing damage over time in that area and possibly increasing damage done to enemies. eye of the storm makes it an aura basically.

4th ability: eye of the storm: it takes the idea of the flying and possibly laser spam while making it based of the void storms. at the same time either buffing its abilities or changing them. and its weaponry changes to using the staff to cast either magic missiles or if you charge it. a void bomb akin to casting a explosive fireball.

so far this is all i can think up for now. but this is fun.

Tencent is a chinese technology and entertainment TITAN. Tencent fully owns Riot games (League of Legends, Valorant etc) and Leyou (which in turn means DE and their games, eg.: Warframe) and owns significant shares of Epic games, Supercell (clash of clans) and miniclip to name a few recognizable brands. It is known for selling tons of user-data and has made a reputation of forcing the "pay to win"/cashgrab -mechanics into the games they own.

    i see.

  16. while the heirloom stuff looks cool and all. i think i'll pass. this feels like a mistake to purchase. plus i have spent a lot on prime access. between the negativity around this heirloom stuff and the whole tencent stuff i just feel burnt out. i love this game. but its starting to feel like a mistake to being part of this game.

ps i do not even know what or who tencent. i just know a ton of players hate it with a passion. and why stick around when the air is stiffled with so much negativity.

i thought it was so pose to be an emblem and a gunblade skin that we got? also i did not see any requirement of going into that baro's relay. all i saw was "do all 5 of the weekly events" thing. and that was it.

and i have all of the recall glyphs.

  18. like the title says its an ideal thats been drifting in my brain for a while mostly formless. i have no idea how this thing would be. and i an not going to pretend like i know about the math and practicality that it would take in making said warframe work. nor do i have the artistic talent to even make how it looks a thing. nor do i care if we already have a "dragon themed frame". besides i've been at odds with how chroma works for a long while so i give up on trying to force him to what i think should be done. besides i have a passion with dragons, why should i cater an idea of mine to some form of checklist every player seems to have?

so the idea again like title says. combines the concepts of gargoyles and or dragon like qualities with void angels. possible  with one i haven't mentioned wizards, sorcerers and the like. i would imagine the frame would utilize the metallic, ethereal like material that the angels and the other stuff are composed of which i myself have no idea how they function but the whole stuff the incarnons been looking like has been appealing to me. i would like to imagine that the frame would have dragon like qualities to it maybe taking a nod from some void angels and some others. as for why i said gargoyle it was mostly a bypass for the said "but we already have a dragon frame" but i did have a few ideas for in case it had those themes to it. it would be maybe hardening itself to make it more durable with possible drawbacks in a way or form. other ideas would be maybe summoning hands from no were to either hold targets or punch them, i do not know.

the idea is just so cluttered and in my head i am not really sure what it would do. maybe it could work with controlling space and time to an extent. maybe it could fire void missiles (based on magic missiles), maybe it could teleport. the idea for me is like some kind of schrodinger's cat for me. i can see it having a few ideas of stuff. but i am not sure what would be practical. i thought i would just get this idea out there. just because i wanted to and it feels a little bit better for me to just talk about an idea. i've always liked this stuff. just scratching an itch.

  19. ok i am not an expert at doing this stuff. but with how frequent this has happen to me i would expect others to have dealt with this but since has happened every time i am in eris dark sector survival. i am just doing this for the sake of my sanity. please fix the dang teleport. either remove it please so no one ever gets stuck again. i am trying to calmly state this but this has bothered me a long time. and do you think it is fair that those guys teleport can stick you in the floor and instantly cause a  fail in a solo survival? because that unstuck command isn't doing much honestly, again sorry for sounding a little rude or anything. just agitated over this since its kind of unfair.
