  1. coptering is not a bug anymore, archwing has coptering in some way for gods sake, do you really believe devs would do animations and knowingly introduce a bug in a new game mode? coptering is not a bug, it may be removed (i dont really agree with it but...) but its deffinitly not a bug

There are a lot of bugs in software that become features because users start using them.  This is one of them.  It was not an intended mechanic but enough people began using it that by the time DE considered removing it, they couldn't because of fear of Coptergate.

And what is the coptering in archwing?  The twirl in the default melee stance?

  2. I would fully support removing coptering as a movement speed increase mechanic (and thus get rid of the nonstop usage of it) but only if we see improvements in overall movement.  Frost moves like molasses in winter and without coptering, melee jump, and wall vaulting, using him is unbearable.  Some people may enjoy moving at the pace of a dead slug, but it drives me bonkers.  And wears out my fingers.

Add to that stamina drain for sprinting, which has always boggled my mind.  They need to get rid of that altogether.  I feel like it was done to appease complaints about rushing (an argument as old as warframe), but it really it only hurt the people who complained about rushing.  Since rushers adopted coptering and wall vaulting to compensate and actually go even faster.  Now if you rely solely on sprinting, your team will finish the mission before you hit the halfway mark. If you're a Frost, you might not even make it out of the first hallway.

I exaggerate, but the base movement mechanics are sluggish and awful.  Just look at how long it takes you to get Cephalon Simaris in the relay if you only sprint.  And you can't copter but you can turboslide and slide-jump to make it less agonizing.

  3. I don't believe warframes should be slow and methodical, though the current basic movement mechanics (walking, sprinting, jumping, recovering from knockdown) would make you think they are.  But I agree fully that coptering is terrible.  It looks like garbage, DE has admitted it was a bug, and it's terrible.  Plus it looks like garbage. :P

  4. If you want the easy way or you got the cash -> go buy the Prime Access.

If you're into grind or doesn't have the cash at hand and want him badly -> go farm his parts

If you dislike grind and have plats at hand -> go buy his parts from other players.

    Goodluck.

Prime Access Grind Insurance (patent pending)

  5. It feels like the solo/loner/PUG experience in Warframe is in a state of decline.  With private key missions being everywhere and now raids, are there plans to restore the old experience of being able to drop into any mission seamlessly to its former glory?

  6. 1.) If you want to coordinate with your team, you have one option pretty much and that's teamspeak (or raidcall, etc).  Chat has never been good for pvp in any game, but it does allow some high level planning... except that it's open to everyone.  Which means that clan based pre-mades will roflstomp pugs all day and who doesn't like a good pubstomp.  Read: give up now if you're not in a clan.

Which brings me to a question for you DE_Adam, do squads get shuffled or do they stick together?  I'm a loner so haven't been able to confirm this either way.

2.) Coptering makes everything irrelevant with a couple exceptions.  It's the warframe equivalent of bunny hopping and it's really annoying.  I'd vote to remove it but I'm sure some people would disagree.  Probably those who rely on it heavily.

3.) No reward for losing sucks.  I tried to endure the bugs for a couple hours the other day and couldn't squeeze out a single win.  The other team always seemed a little too well organized for me and the randoms I was placed with, which made me think #1 was at play, but no one would answer if they were in a squad or not.  So really, except for the joy of losing, trying Conclave is just a waste of my time when so much other grinding needs to be done.

  7. Like I stated, it's a global progress.  Apparently Simaris needs a LOT of Synthesis targets to complete his research.  Dude must be sloppy in his attempts or something.

It's because Simaris is really the Swedish Chef.  And this keeps happening.  (edit: skip ahead to around 38 seconds)

  8. Turbo slide has been around forever.  It was a 0.0000123 alpha bug as you say.  But I noticed it really start getting abused around the time that stamina drain during sprinting was massively increased.  Tenno suddenly became overweight sluggards even more than before.  We adopted turbo sliding as a remedy (since you regen stamina a little as well) and also coptering.  Another bug become mechanic.  Oh and wall vaulting, too.  Another bug.

The reason I feel that people actually like it and stick with it so vehemently is 1) because no one likes change and 2) because moving otherwise in this game is so bad, you have to do it to actually feel like you're moving at a halfway decent pace.

And slide-jump is probably another accident.  And now that we have melee jumps, you can slide-jump-melee for rocket propelled tenno.  Good luck controlling any of this consistently.

  9. At the current rate I guess we'll be at 100% in a week.  Four days since patch, 37% = about 9% per day.  Which leaves 7 more days.  That's assuming he doesn't switch every week and we don't get whatever reward.  Also assuming DE doesn't tamper with the numbers and it finishes more quickly.

  10. If you're referring to the raid, it's supposed to be difficult. You're supposed to have a coordinated team willing to cooperate, not a group of seven other random people you could not care less about.

Which is basically the heart of Warframe outside of level 100 endless defense.  Joining up with randoms you know nothing about and being able to enjoy yourself.

Raids specifically exclude players like me, but oh well, right?  Good thing the rewards are crap or I might actually care for a second. :P  But I've been prepared since they mentioned it to be excluded.

I'm more bothered by the complete shoddiness of the game these days and the prevalence of bugs in every aspect of gameplay.  I can't even move around my ship without encountering bugs.  Like having the accursed Ordis, Lotus and Simaris jabbering at me nonstop until this bloody quest is over.

  11. Also no rewards from playing Conclave half the time.  Honestly, nothing can be worth enduring all these crap bugs, but actually getting a reward for enduring it would be a start.

Also, I don't know if it's being done, but you really need to shuffle pre-made squads onto opposing teams.  This is too early in Conclave's life for pubstomps to drive pugs completely out of it.  Or not, maybe those are your bread and butter.  You seem to hate pugs for everything else, like raids and void missions (why else would there be a recruitment channel).  So might as well crap on them for conclave too.

    5. Capture the Cephalon -...but Rhino's Charge does kill in 1 hit. Excal's Radial blind lasts 0.5 second and stuns only when you literally jump on enemys head, and Radial javelin after latest nerf of all nerfs is useless - can kill only when face to face, while Volt's Overcharge kills everything in range on any floor (below, above and at same lvl as Volt).

good feedback overall (though it'll be ignored in this post probably) but Rhino Charge only kills on a direct hit. if you just fly by the person all you get is a chance at knockdown or nothing at all (can't say i've seen any effect but who knows).  That makes it basically the same as shock, without the insane range.  Also radial javelin will kill through walls if you saw the excalibur first or he saw you. Volt has no such limitation.  Stomp also seems to have no effect on the enemy shooting you in the face.  If anything, it just makes easier for them to kill you since you had to stand still during cast and they can't move to mess up their aim.

  13. I'm half hoping that Cephalon Simaris asks me to synthesize Ordis next, if I hear that quest dialogue one more time.. After every bloody mission.  Even turning off Ordis volume only causes me to hear half the conversation.

Also, I'd like to see stats on how many conclave matches actually finished this weekend.  Every single one i've been in has bugged out because of one of the cephalons vanishes.

edit: managed to complete 2 matches, one I joined for about 1 minute before it was over. the other was followed by a match where i died and never respawned.  i was carrying the cephalon and i'm pretty sure it vanished with me.

  14.

There's been some vitriol in this thread, and it isn't hard to see why.  Please, start listening to the people who aren't founders.  Every update brings dozens of pages of comments on these forums, and filtering out 90% of the rage leaves me a depressing picture.  The same ideas get tossed around, ignored by you, and promises are broken.  That is unacceptable, and it's very likely going to cost you paying customers.

But if you must listen to founders, please hear me say that you should listen to people like this guy and the dozens of other great posts in this thread with real constructive suggestions.  I really like the idea of putting in tiers of weapons that are less rewarding in missions outside their tier and give you an actual sense of advancement in them.

The theme of this update in my own personal experience is that Warframe is a game that glitters with beautiful gold.  And underneath that thin layer of gold is rusted old iron that is snapping in half as you stand on it.

  15. Compare that to today, where if you want the new claw stance for example, you get to go hunt Manics - which, far as I can tell, only spawn once per mission. Strike you as an actual attempt to reduce grind? Doesn't to me.

Nevermind that the codex is still an unfulfilled promise in that it was advertised as unobfuscating the complete drop table (including mission rewards) by "U11, at the latest".

I would hazard to say that there is not one single system in this game that is not incomplete or half-broken, based on what we were promised.  Codex is a perfect example.  Archwing.  Melee.  Parkour.  Stealth.  Relays.  Conclave.  Mod balancing.  Drop tables.  Star chart.  Afk handling.  Trading.  Extractors.  Private key missions.  On and on.  And every time you crash hard to desktop, see the wrong information in the end of mission screen, fall through the map, can't complete a mission, get stuck somewhere and can't move, have your warframe stuck in front of your arsenal screen so you can't see anything, hear the wrong audio play, walk into a room with blinding bloom all over the wall or a floor that is darker than night, try to jump but can't because you're too close to a ledge, fly against a wall and hang there for a second while your momentum fades, or any of the fifteen thousand other things that don't feel right, you begin to see a pattern.

I think DE sees it as this game lives or dies but the rate at which it can push out new content and I have always supported them pushing the bar higher and higher.  But I don't know if it's just my ability to tolerate it, or things have gotten to a breaking point, but they really need to step back and make this game feel right again.  I'd love to play for five minutes and not feel like I'm fighting the game's shoddy quality as much as I am fighting the grineer.

  16. His voice is normally deep and rumbly but after you buy something and he says "may this aid you in the --"  his voice becomes nasally like some caricature of a nerdy kid explaining why you're an idiot because you don't know anything about early 20th century locomotive engines.  I think it's just sped up a little too much. :)

  17. DE repeatedly says they are aware of the grind and want to reduce it.  And then repeatedly adds things that are massively more grindy than anything before them.  But occasionally we get tossed a bone, like Mirage, and say hey we listened.  It's not good enough and my trust has been lessening for quite some time.  This latest incident is just another example.

I get that they have to make money and grind walls are a good way for them to do that.  But they aren't a good way for consumers to have fun.  If I have to pay to avoid pain, do I enjoy spending that money?  Wouldn't I rather pay to increase pleasure?  I mean, this is supposed to be entertainment. What other thing in life do we pay to avoid pain?  Insurance.  Every time you give DE money, just remember you're paying your grind insurance bill.
